Looking for must have gear for a PC to start with. I have 700 to spend.

Additionally, I have 3 [Any] skills in Culture, Tech, and Vehicle. I haven't gone through the descriptions entirely yet, but Alien/Malware look fun for Culture and Tech respectively. No idea for Vehicle. Suggestions here would be great too.

As for starting worlds, do we have a list to choose from?

OK, so now I would like people's input who know the system better than I on which skills are more important than others for a Face/Science oriented character. I have level 1 in most (all) social skills, but I would really like to specialize and build PC background off of that.

For science, Know is the most important. Heal as well if you want biology as a focus. A bit of Administer if you worked in academia and know how to get grants.

For a face, Talk for sure. Then it depends on what kind of face you want to be. Trade for businessman, Connect for fixer, Lead for a manager, Perform for a politician/entertainer.

Heal might be nice. I also think Trade to grow our little empire, since this does seem like an economic growth oriented game

As far as actual healing, Samara has that very well covered. But Heal more as a knowledge skill - to represent anatomy, physiology, what did that red pill do to me, etc. - could be helpful.

Elan is strong on Talk. Lola has both levels of the Connected focus. Trade would definitely be the most valuable addition.
