Hi all, I'm looking to put together a group of Hunters for a game of Monster of the Week. I already have two committed players (Another AKA and Thelonius) and would like to add 1-3 more. The setting will be chosen collectively. You can find the playbooks (classes) and rules reference sheets here.
MONSTER OF THE WEEK
Most people don’t believe in monsters, but you know the truth. They’re real, and it’s your task to bring them down.
Monster of the Week is an episodic action-horror RPG for 3-5 players that uses the rules-light Powered by the Apocalypse system. Hunt high school beasties a la Buffy the Vampire Slayer, travel the country to bring down unnatural creatures like the Winchester brothers of Supernatural, or head up the government investigation like Mulder and Scully. Tackle Bigfoot, collar a chupacabra, and drive away demons.
Grab the fireplace poker and open your spell book. That monster’s going down!

I’d be interested in joining a Scooby Gang! Leaning towards either a Spooky who was abducted by aliens/interdimensionals/fairies so now he’s kind of slipped out of time slightly and gets hunches, premonitions and can affect fate a little. If we’re down a Divine and you need someone with more healing ability, I could try to cook up a Wronged or maybe an Initiate who fell into an overly touchy-feely cult of yoga enthusiasts only to discover they’re a Sect of healers and protectors? The latter could be fun. Was tempted by a Force Spell-Slinger but didn’t wanna come in and take over with the big whooshy magic.

I'd be happy to have you.
A Healer isn't really needed in this game. The amount you can heal during a session is severely limited and all Harm goes away between episodes. An Initiate would be awkward to slot in since we have a Professional and the whole team are basically contractors for his organization, but not impossible.
Ultimately, you can play whatever Playbook appeals to you that isn't already spoken for. I'm not worried about a Spell-slinger if that's what you'd like to play. "Big whooshy magic" doesn't count as a monster's weakness (unless they're specifically vulnerable to magic), so it's not more effective than a big gun. One of the players has a grenade launcher, so I'm not afraid of characters able to do big Harm, lol.
