"The Ides of March"- Dark Heresy 2 campaign [Closed]

"On the edge of the Thrule sub-sector lies the Sassan Nictor system. Centred around a medium sized planet of the same name, and circled by four tributary worlds, it is an important Imperial asset within the Askellon Sector.
Though it contributes its fair tithe of soldiers, it is for its factories that make this system particularly vital. Built around an ancient xenos pyramid, the Adeptus Mechanicus produce highly specialised weapons, suitable for a variety of war-zones, be they Chimeras capable of underwater operation, or the Lileathian Haywire rifle.

Until recently, there has been little need for further Imperial interest, its resources already thin containing threats across the rest of the sector. As the new year dawns however whispers concerning the system have increased dramatically. A vicious power struggle between the noble families over the coming elections. A sudden explosion in the psyker population. A heretical cult spreading unchecked following the sermons of the New Prophet. And on the outskirts of the system, increased xenos activity drawn ever closer to the planet itself.

Newly recruited by an Inquisitor, your team is sent to investigate the truth of these whispers and who or what is behind it."



This is going to be a Dark Heresy 2 game. Its going to have a particular focus on investigation, with the acolytes solving clues and attempting to uncover the mystery at the heart of the campaign. Players will be give space to approach this how they wish and the decisions they make will have real consequences on the story. In terms of playing style, it going to be a bit Sherlock Holmes mixed with James Bond on a planet on the verge of descending into chaos.

The game is going to have a maximum of 3-4 players and I intend for it to move pretty quickly.

I am very interested! I'm still pretty new to PbP gaming so I'm sure I'll have some questions, but I would like to give it a shot! What materials are you going to allow? As in, will you allow the extra stuff from Enemy Within/Without/Beyond?

In terms of the materials I was just thinking DH2 and Enemies within but if there was something you would really like from any of the supplements we can discuss it.

I'll see about getting a new thread up and some information on character creation and we can hopefully get started pretty soon.

For the content, I was just looking to use Garden World as my homeworld, which is from Enemies Beyond. The background and role I was eyeing are from the core book. If you want to keep it to core + Within, I can pick something else.

That would be no problem. I'd not really looked at Garden Worlds before but looking at it I think you could get a really interesting character for this from there.

Great! I'm looking forward to this. Are we going to discuss party composition so that we don't end up unintentionally stepping on each others' toes? Like maybe through a LINE chat or something? I'm not sure how the process usually goes for these party-based games.

I'm also looking forward to this; my first time playing DH2. Sounds like a good idea to discuss character concepts and party structure with each other. Could we do that here?

Yeah it would be a good idea, before anyone puts a lot of time or energy into their characters. We should be getting our own thread on the main page soon but in the meantime, lets get an Line group set up. I'll send a quick PM to you now to get your user names and we can go from there.

Ah fantastic. Let me know when you have something put together. Type of character is up to you, but we are finding so far that investigation/intelligence skills are quite useful.

Interested in making a character for this (I've never played Dark Heresy 1 or 2 but I have the DH2 rulebook!)

Hi She who thirsts, I think we should be able to find you a slot as well. I'm talking with Saturncomesbackaround at the moment but they are designing a different kind of character. A Sister Hospitaller would be really interesting to insert into the game, especially as Cassandra has since dropped out.

Hey there, I was wondering if you are still looking for people? It seems a few other people were about to fill the slots you needed but I'm not sure if they have yet or not!

If there's space, I'd love to give it a shot! I've never actually played any of the Warhammer 40k rpgs before but I generally understand the bare bones of the system I think.
Character wise I'm open to playing more or less whatever would best round out the group! That being said I do have a few ideas floating around right now.

- Mechanicus Chirurgen with a bent towards making her own cybernetics and implanting them in people,
- Mutant Mystic Psyker that I think could be very interesting (though I feel like Mutant as a background probably is pretty polarizing for gm's so I won't get my hopes up yet!)
- I'm also interested in sisters of battle just from a lore perspective, so something in that realm would be fun for me too!

Hi, thanks for the interest AbstractCloud1. If She Who Thirsts is happy with giving up their slot for the moment we can go with that. If the game does open up a bit more I can contact you again and see if you are still interested.

I'd be really interested in having a Chirurgeon in the game. So far we don't have any healers and they will probably come in handy very soon. The interest in attaching implants would certainly fit well into certain sectors of the planet as well.

If you can write out the character and some background and send it to me via PM I can see about getting you introduced in.

Though, again, I do have a slot in another game so at this point either of us would end up with two here! I'm fine with waiting till yall need another person to fill an empty slot if another one crops up in the future, I feel bad taking She Who Thirsts spot since she asked to join way before me.
