There are a couple of things to consider:

Firstly, that turns it into lethal damage. You kill Owlbear, that's a triple keelhauling - almost certain death.
Secondly - do you really want to to let people you're thinking of staging a mutiny against know that you can light your hands on fire?

Also, least to most hostile - there's a few people on the same level, and with three of you trying this, do you want me to randomise amongst the people on the same level, or do you want to make specific calls?

Sakana is working on one person, who he is still not moving finally up to helpful. (rolled 2 diplomacy this evening - feel free to RP that out)

^^ In addition to what Murc said, Sakana will 100% be attempting to tell the people he is shmoozing to prepare themselves for a terrible storm, take all the precautions - especially the riggers. Any preparedness they might have may swing them to our cause more easily. That's the hope.

Can I suggest just doing a round of rolling to move us forward in the story/as a group?

I know the pace of PbP can be slow, but it has been 7 months and we have essentially rolled for mundane tasks and tried to make friends. I understand this is an important part of the mission, but perhaps it needs some tweeking to better fit PbP?

If I am alone in feeling like this, I will table this discussion. What does everyone else think?

Yeah, I've said before I'm happy to just stop at 'key points' - just roll for diplomacy every night; and let you know if someone is routinely being punished, but otherwise just move it on.

But will want a consensus on this.

Also, the next two weeks are very intense at work - I've been doing about 50 hour weeks all week, and this is set to continue until the end of July.

Sakana can see underwater, but he's not actually underwater currently - he's on the reef.

I'll allow a, but only if you accept that means fire spells do no damage when cast into the water. Not an issue now, but might be in the future.
