| Willvr, can you give me a series of tests I can post here signifying various attempts at "making allies"? This will expedite the process for me and then I can RP the results. Because he is so vested in navigation and an understanding of the ocean, these are the PPL he would approach in order of importance: - Peppery Longfarthing: Sailing Master - Patch Patchsalt: Boatswain's mate - Any of the Riggers who seem interested - Finally, any Swabs who aren't total cunts. - Grond wrote:

This is a great idea. Kelp and Coral it is.

| Holy mother of....
Okay, that's going to rather drastically change how this encounter goes. I'll post a bit later, I just want to give a response to the question about a series of checks:
I'll give you a freebie that the officers, with two notable exceptions, can't be swayed. What I'll do, is that, unless you give me notice you want to change your extra action for the day, I'll roll a diplomacy check, moving down in order of hostility to you, starting with the riggers. I will announce the results at the beginning of the day action and the beginning of the night action, in order for you to RP it out.

| So this is going to be moving into unarmed combat now. Unless you have improved unarmed strike or natural weapons, no AoO for unarmed attacks. Note, if you're using your natural weapons they do lethal damage, which can potentially kill someone. To save time, I've rolled initiatives, but don't feel constrained to wait for your action to post:
Sakana Syl Alyra Aretta Queqek Yesmoro Jape Katarina Amanzi

| Alyra will move back 10 ft. and cast Summon Monster I to summon a celestial eagle, which will appear behind Syl and full attack. Sorry to make keeping track of this complicated https://orokos.com/roll/786829First Talon: 9 to hit, 1 damage Second Talon: 22 to hit, 2 damage Beak: 13 to hit, 3 damage. IC: "Fine, but you asked for this." Alyra takes a couple steps back and holds her arm up like a perch for a bird, letting out a low whistle. In a flit of light a white eagle appears behind Syl and swoops at her, raking and biting wherever she can. "Good girl Tanaya." Alyra says as the Eagle attacks relentlessly. | |

| Possible actions, depending on what else happens in the round: 1) If any ally falls unconscious, I will move to them and cure light wounds. If an attacker drops, I'll cast stabilize so they don't die. I'll provoke if needed. Option 1: Concentration / cure light wounds: 1d20+5 21 1d8+1 32) If one of them attacks me, or if no one attacks me and one of them (except Fipps) is undamaged, Amanzi's hand rimes with frost, and he places it on the target's forehead, saying, "Besmara requires that you end your quarrels on shore!" There is a brief flash of energy, and when he removes his hand a frozen brand of a skull and crossbones is briefly visible on their forehead, then fades. Option 2: Wintry Touch: touch attack / cold damage: 1d20 14 1d6 33) If neither of the above apply, Amanzi intones, "It is Besmara's will that fighting be left on shore! Do you dare risk her wrath so soon out of port?" Option 3: threaten the Japes with Besmara's wrath: Intimidate: 1d20+4 16

| They all started off as hostile. They were all about to attack, Alyra talked down one of them. They're now throwing punches.
I could have just had them punch you, initiative was rolled to determine how quickly you realised that's what they were about to do.

So far, none of the PCs have been hurt. Also, Grond's actions are perfect for PbP, especially for someone late in the initiative order. However, you can't really intimidate an entire group like that once combat has actually started.

| I think I forgot to click send after posting yesterday. Don't post at 4am. Alyra will step back 15ft. She'll ready an action to summon monster 1 if an enemy moves within 10ft of her, and her eagle will miss furiously with another full attack at Syl. Claw, Claw, Bite, 8, 10, 7. https://orokos.com/roll/788292IC: Alyra stepped back quickly, conjuring up the arcane energy she needed to summon another creature. "Come no further." she states to her aggressors. Tanaya claws and pecks at Syl, diving again and again at the woman. | |

| Will, if you push "edit" and then copy and paste someone's IC, you will also copy their dialogue color without having to manually replicate it. Also, so that I am understanding correctly, Sakana's current touch DC is 15 (+3 Dex/+2 Scales) correct? He has no armor/shield. OOC: unarmed attack at whomever just punched me: 7 https://orokos.com/roll/788734IC: Sakana soaked the blow with his face, feeling every bit of that punch. Another one of those and he would really be hurting. He attempted to throw a punch back, but it wasn't a good throw from the start. | |

| So after this combat, any future combats will use maps. With everyone unarmed though, AoO aren't really a thing, so haven't bothered. For those wondering about status though, Syl is struggling, one more punch from Yesmoro will probably take down Aretta. Jape looks... okay at this point.
On your side, only Sakana looks in real danger of dropping from a single blow, and it's non-lethal.

| I summed up the last one, as those who posted attacks all missed, and no AoO available as you're unarmed.
None of your group other than Sakana are injured, which if done well, could really enhance your reputation with the crew that aren't already solidly with Scourge/Plugg.
I'll do the post including the daily tasks tomorrow.

| Rat Catcher: Catching rats and other vermin belowdecks, requiring either a DC 10 Stealth check, Survival check, or Dexterity check to catch and kill enough rats, cockroaches, and beetles for a good day’s work.
Swab the Decks: Backbreaking work mopping the decks and scrubbing them with sandstone blocks called holystones, requiring a DC 10 Strength or Constitution check. Failing either check results in the PC being fatigued at the end of the shift.
Hauling Rope and Knot Work: Tying and untying knots in the ship’s ropes and moving heavy coils of rope from one part of the ship to another, requiring a DC 10 Profession (sailor) or Strength check. The PC must also make a DC 10 Constitution check to avoid being fatigued at the end of the shift.
Things constantly tear or break aboard the ship and need repairs, whether sewing sails or splicing rope all day, requiring a DC 10 Profession (sailor) or Dexterity check.
Fishing: Catching tonight’s supper using the ship’s nets. A DC 10 Profession (fisherman) or Survival check provides enough fish. As Kroop is insensible, you also need to cook. As you are the only cook today, checks for both tasks are made at -4 penalties, and if you take any ships actions, you will automatically fail.
Also, if you wish to influence allies, just make a check here, and I'll let you know if you are successful, so you can RP it out.

I'll have to roll survival for both, and they'll be at -6, unless I can use the Eidolon to fish, then its 0/-2. https://orokos.com/roll/790096Rolled a 14, then a 19, so that's a fail/pass, or a pass/pass if the Eidolon is cool. | Havoc - Grok will give you make the alchemical supplies at a discount, but they're technically Harrigan's now.
Grond - With that roll, all 5 flasks, but not the bandolier. And yes, whisky still in them. Yes, you fail both, which will get you a whipping at the bloody hour.
Murc - You can try, but you will need to make a stealth check to make sure you're not spotted summoning - Fishgut's quarters are right next to the Quartermaster. DC 10.
Just a note guys, none of the standard pirates have charisma modifers, so the DC to move from indifferent is 15, and from friendly to helpful is 10. Unlike what the rules say, as this is assumed to be over many hours, this will be a permanent change in attitude.
Also, I am likely going to be writing Katarina out over the next few days, unless they at least post OOC.

Sakana, note that your night action of talking has gotten Conchobar to helpful. Any particular preference as to who to go for next?
Also, though I posted it, some night actions would take place prior to the whipping, so Murc and Grond can post night actions, which would take place if they are ones for before the whipping.
Also, don't forget to mention what you are doing with your rum. After the first night, I will now start doing the con damage as well.

You can have a footlocker, though no lock.
Before you make it to Quarne, Sandara will stop you - she casts a spell, which heals your wounds. She lets you know that the officers generally are too scared of Scourge to really stand with you. Feel free to either let that pass or respond in the IC.
