Appearance:

The most unnatural, unnerving part isn't the disgusting feeling you get from him, its that fecking smile. Even when he's unconscious he's got a smile that's both unsettling and aggravating."

"Attempts at removing his gloves took quite a lot of effort. The seemingly standard, if not quality, reinforced gloves were too tight to easily remove, and thin workman's mesh took some time to cut through. What lay below them made the precautions obvious. The creature I once thought a man held a foul mark, a lipless mouth of fanged teeth lay in the center of his palm."

Taint.

Outfit: Damiel wears simple clothes of worn blue, wrapped in dirty cloth at the forearm, waist, and shins. He wears gloves made of a strong fiber which remains flexible but can withstand sharp objects. He uses a Repentor pattern whip, common on his homeworld and made of simlar material. It is special in that the guard is a number of hooks, allowing the whip to be looped back on itself, rendering it short enough to be used for self-flagellation. His pistol is only on him when he is on official inquisition business. He wears a light, green flak coat, weighed down with a heavy chain bearing the Rosette.

Personality: On the surface, Damiel is quiet and callous, having lived in the shadow of constant hatred. His life in the Astra Telepathica gave him purpose, but it didn't solve the aching emptiness in him, nor did the constant, violent reactions from the psykers aid his self-confidence. Since the Inquisition, he understands that he has a use, but he is quite good at watching his words and keeping his head down. In reality, Damiel yearns for companionship, anything close to a positive relationship with any human was quickly cut off, and he was the only of his kind he has ever met.

Damiel was born on Balenon to two unimportant members of an infinite Ecclesiarchy. He was the first of his family to bear the Blank gene, and his family knew little of how to help him. He grew up with little contact to people, and his parents taught little more than disapproval, leaving Damiel with a sour taste for the Imperial Creed. In the face of his ecclesiarchy grown peers, Damiel was an outcast, often beaten and spat on for his gift. He grew to keep his head down, but when the black ships came, no one would hide him from their gaze, and at the age of 10, he left for a different kind of life.

Aboard the black ships, Damiel was momentarily assigned to the holding chambers bound the the Culexus assassinorum. He learned very little in those few short weeks, as one early morning he found himself shoved off on the Astra Telepathica, bound for a budding subsect bent on roping in unruly psykers without causing mass warp disturbances. He was trained as a psyker hunter, of sorts.

being raised and trained around the only people that shared any amount of understanding towards him, mixed with the people that hated him the most, drew a stark contrast on Damiel's views towards friends and foes. He trained hard to beat those who would hate him, and cultivated what few friendships he could muster.

His training complete, Damiel would go on to carry out his creator's will to a measurable success. Time after time he met his quota for rogue psykers, bringing in all sorts of untrained warp timebombs. But tracking these people was never easy for him, he spent many years learning to read what little was given to him by his environment, and often times had to base his conclusions solely off what he could find, as human interaction was limited, and often ended poorly. What little admiration he garnered came from the very rare Pariahs or more common inquisitors, the latter looking to bolster their psionic defense. It was there that Damiel found himself working more and more closely with the Inquisition. The inquisition desired his abilities, and often traded his presence for clues and information. Eventually, Damiel would be commandeered by the Inquisition, bought off from the Astra Telepathica like property. He would move between inquisitors, still carrying out roughly the same mission; hunt the psyker.

His usually quarry would gain a little intricacy on a moon of Remus-5, at explorator research center Epsilon-63. Tasked with discovering the mysterious, warp tainted astropathic communications coming from the station. There he would find the fabric of the warp thinning, and many of the resident admech's in various states of insanity. An ancient ship seemed the source of their research, but the truth lay deeper within. A violent night led them to the center of their worship and cause of the thinning of the vau'sha'shaun'un, a living, breathing STC, tainted by the possession of a daemon. After a hard fought battle, the team made it out with no casualties, but Damiel would forever bear the mark of the beast on his hands, a parting gift of the warp's loving touch.
