For some clarification, the wall is like this, but in a triangle pattern.

Behind the walls are several small buildings.

Grimnir describes a 100m perimeter of deforestation all around the base.

You also have some xenos guys you should factor in to your plans.

One question. How high are the Tau walls? Could an Astartes for example jump into the corner plattforms of climb the yellow parts between the section of blue shield, and how difficult would it be?

That curve is 3m high. Total height is 6m. However, as you can see, the build of the defenses makes it difficult for invaders to climb. There would be some hefty negatives.

Well, some of us got jump packs so they'll probably find a way inside.

For the lay folk, the current plan as I understand it is this:

- Shooters (namely Cassiel) take out the towers, starting with the one closest to our jump point. Tower guns shouldn't have force fields since the force walls aren't that high to begin with.

- Shock troops with jump packs hop the walls to disable the power units. With the power unit(s) down, the force fields will fail, allowing the Eldar pawns to come into play.
--- hopefully with enough down the tower guns will also lose power.
--- assuming he doesn't know another way in, this will also allow Grimnir a way in. One of us could always carry him in

- Any tough opponents need to be charged/engaged in melee to take away the Tau's primary strength (ranged combat).

Am I missing anything?

What should Ur'iss's roll in this be? What does she specialize in?

I was thinking that Cassiel and others would post up on the bottom wall of the triangle while the jump packs take the top point of it. If some jumpers go for the Genny at the same time then two guns should go down quickly as well as the barrier. Cassiel can work on the bottom two guns since he'll have eyes both. Jumper may take some fire but it is what it is lol.

It's up for debate though so have at it in the IC squad!

I keep forgetting that Cassiel has a jump pack. That makes sense for him to get that close then.

Not really. Bleda don't have a jump pack so I'll suppose he'll keep with the Dark Eld or such.

As long as no jump packs stay in the treeline and provide ranged support, we should be good. I think that's the biggest issue to keep them protected.

Sapiens would love to mess with their tech & targeting to give the Jump-packers a better shot. Then go to sniping with his bolter.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Reminder to everyone that those of us who can benefit from squad mode are still in "Bleed Them Dry" - no attacks of opportunity for leaving melee and Marines Rank 4 and higher get a flat +20 to Agility, so your dodge/movement/etc should be LIT, FAM.

All that is to say, those in squad mode get into melee when you can. That is where we will absolutely excel.

Also to reiterate, Lucius priority target: Power Source(s) --> Commanders --> secondary threats; relying on others to take out towers unless ordered otherwise.

Ok, so here's the plan broken down just to reiterate

Cassiel and everyone without a jump pack, line up in the trees at the "bottom side" of the triangle.

All those WITH will line up in the trees at the "top point".

Cassiel will start the attack by nuking one of the towers, left or right is his choice. When this is done, he moves on to the remaining.

The jumpers will attack the top tower, with one or two trying to take out the generator for the walls at the same time.

When the genny is down, Grimnir will stealth his way into the buildings, looking for intel while everyone else that can run, runs to attack the defenders.

If things go pear shaped, everyone bolts back into the forest and regroups.

Sound good?

And sapiens will be working electronic warfare, fucking with their coms and hopefully preventing the use of drones.

Lucius will be on generator duty.

Ok, so group X is in combat as of this moment. Group y is not in position yet for the attack, so depending on what happens, Group Y may have to wait a few rounds before they can launch their own attack, or alter course to intercede, although that might take longer.
Play it by ear on that part.

However, there are a few special rules based on the enemies group x is fighting.
its a -40 awareness test to see them, unless you are in CC, then its -30.

If you can't see them, CC attacks are -30 unless you have blind fighting talent.
Once you see them, its still a -10 to attack rolls. (This is written on the enemy sheet, not some bogus shit I made up)
Shooting at them confers the same modifiers, though they will also have cover.

Moving will be similar to night fighting stuff from before.
-10 pilot to use jump packs or acrobatics test to move at regular speed. Failure is 1/2 speed for acrobatics. Failure on pilot test means a 10% chance to fall and take falling damage.
They are 25m out so jump packs may not be a total necessity here.

So you know whats going on OOC, the Tau have set up detection devices. Between Grimnir and Sapiens they were able to bypass them, which is why they are not being attacked right this moment.

I have not forgotten Sapiens vox interference, that will come in shortly.

So we are on Lucius. No awareness necessary as you already passed. Just how are you moving?
