IC: Serephan roared through the sky using his jump pack to propel him towards the one enemy not engaged by their kill team. He laughs beneath his helm at the change to fight once again, the let his chainsword rip into the flesh of their enemies after too long of an absence. It was exhilarating. It shouldn't have been because of the thousands of times he'd done this in the past, and yet each time the high from it took him to a euphoria.

He couldn't wait for the blade to taste the flesh of the xenos. Crashing into the monstrosity, he raises his arm high and comes down hard with the masterful weapon. The feeling of flesh grinding into it was bliss to his ears.

The arrival of the Apothecary added more weight to the flanking attack. As Hydrako began to press in, he drew the powersword in his left hand and slashed the arcing blade at the dark figure nearest him. The gloom under the canopy and intermittent flashes from thrusters were taking their toll on his nightvision and his backhanded strike found no purchase. The chainaxe roared as he swung downwards, hoping to cleave through shoulder and neck.

This time it tries to parry, yes, they did not parry last round.

IC: Lucius expertly pushes the blow out of the way with his storm shield, his sword already swinging up under the xenos' attack. There was a sick grind as the diamond-and-tyranid claw-tipped teeth sheer through flesh, bone, and armor. In a second, the creature was in two large chunks at the Novamarine's feet.

For the team I'll make an effort.

IC: Bleda speaks over the vox. "Brothers, there's a psyker nearby who is drawing heavily from the Warp. I can't tell exactly who or where, but he or she is nearby."

OK, Cassiel's fire will make it to where you and the xenos no longer need to take awareness tests, the humans are still under low light conditions

IC: Cassiel fires one of the missiles into the most combustible of the jungle foliage. He is pleased as the explosion leaves a slow-burning fire casting light into the darkness.

IC: Serephan, not missing a beat, spoke out over the team vox, trying his best to get a quick order from their squad leader.

"Hydrako, orders? I have a xenos in front of me and an urge to kill it."

IC dialogue break if possible:

"Identify yourself or be painted 'hostile,'" Lucius growled at the new Astartes in their midst.

The IC is unlocked. Does that mean we're out of initiative now?

Hydrako listened to the exchange as he faced the xenos hulk in front of him. He glanced at the new arrival, another Deathwatch Marine, and considered his options. The xenos were all still alive, bar one, and the humans were struggling to hold on. This stranger said his squad was attacking the wrong enemy, and the xenos had all but ignored them as they landed amongst them, which was odd. He broke down the situation to its components to come up with a plan. There were three types of potential hostile at this stage. They were engaged in melee with the xenos brutes, a psyker was at their back, and the humans were in front. The mortals could be ignored as a threat if they were indeed hostile, given they were almost useless in melee. If the psyker turned out to be hostile, Cassiel could turn his focus on him while the brutes were dealt with. Eliminate the threat tying the most marines down and then focus on the Psyker. The brutes may be under some witchery, which gave Hydrako pause. He decided to test a theory. Hold your positions on defensive stance and only strike back if you are attacked. Bleda and Cassiel, do you have a visual on this savage? If he turns on us, I'll need you to neutralize him as quickly as possible. He spoke in Draco cant over the squad vox. If they attacked his squad, they would fall and be rid of them. Hydrako addressed the newcomer then, with his eyes locked on the brute before him, ready to strike out Call your minions to a halt stranger, or we will put them down.

So, the humans just saw us come to their aid and cut down all but one of their attackers, but because we took a two second breather to assess the situation, they started to attack the demigods in their midst?

Ballsy. Stupid, but ballsy.

Hydrako listened to the stranger, keeping his guard up. When the humans turned on his squad and began to lash out, his hand was forced. Ignoring the hulking xenos before him, which seemed to ignore him as well, he strode to the nearest mortal to crush the insect. He lashed out with his favoured weapon, expecting to cut the man in half, but instead his strike sailed uselessly past. Crush the weaklings for their betrayal. We'll deal with the stranger and his pets after. he whispered over the squad vox again.

Bleda casts the psychic power "Reading" on the Astartes (and probably ignites a fight with him while he's doing it, with Bleda's usual luck...)

I think I recall we were going the OW psychic rules as well, but didn't find anything in the "House Rules" thread regarding psychic powers and such.

Action: Cast fettered psyshic power "Reading" on the unknown Astartes.

The Astartes is a powerful psyker but untouched by the Warp. He is a firm disposition but something here has wounded him differently and deeper than blade or bolt can."

I'll wait for the results of the command test before Lucius reacts. He trusts Bleda, so that will change a lot for him. If they put their weapons down because of Lucius, they'll be much quicker to dispatch.

I don't trust Bleda's reading. Maybe there's a 'mask' of psychic powers that makes the other side look like chaos-pawns. Cassiel agrees that the humans were right to attack the Astartes. For that they should die, sure, but it is as brave servants of the Emperor - like a yappy dog that attacks your ankle so you have no choice but to grind into the pavement. Or is that just me?

Vermillion is highest clearance level in the ordos.

Its possible you mightve heard of Tomasu already, Give me a -20 CL Deathwatch and Ill give infor based on DOS.
Bleda can instead take a +0 CL Psyker test as he's also a librarian and would have had more access, and closer proximity to Tomasu.

Ok, so I am straight-up pulling this out of my ass, but I'm assuming deathwatch code-speak would have an "action list" to describe different situations (kinda like crime codes). Sapiens will think its real; Here's what I propose as a definition:

Temporary alliance when faced by a greater, shared foe

Alliance with competing imperial institution
57.201-B
Alliance with xenos force (typically against chaos or destructive xenos like tyrranids)

Alliance with servants of ruinous powers (typically against xenos)

Its probably pretty stupid for Bleda to remove his helmet but I personally think that it will allow the plot to move forward and be more interesting, so I'll do the stupid thing here.

And I haven't forgotten the request for Bleda's gifts.
