I'm in 10+ discord servers, just not here. Someone suggested it a while back but we've been using LINE for close to 6 years now and I'm afraid of change.

LINE is the most popular texting app in Japan and this gaming group was started by a few of us teachers in Japan in 2013. Naturally, we all relied on LINE and have just been forcing it on others ever since.

Doesn't make a huge difference either way, as it will be a voyage of at least several days if not a week or so.

That's assuming there's no other business you want to attend to in the hive, though admittedly you won't have a whole lot of time now given the time you've spent hunting down items, bartering, sleeping, and generally preparing your stuff and getting everything in order. So run any plans by me if you want to do anything else on the Hive that would take more than a couple hours or so.

Does Felyx have any place to go - maybe within the Inquisition stronghold - to analyze this data? Obviously a better facility will aid him (either by granting a bonus to the test or DoS on a success). If not, then he will just go for it.

I asked in LINE whether or not this should be an extended test (need to acquire a certain amount of DoS before DoF OR before a certain amount of attempts). Personally, I think it should since he would be sitting over it for quite some time. If not, no worries. It'll just remain hella creepy.


EDIT: Per LINE conversation the test has been changed to +10 difficulty extended due to using the Inquisitor's lab and punking the admechs in there. Felyx needs 6 DoS over 3 tech use tests.

Ignore the extra rolls. I rolled 10 times to save myself any future rolling, ignoring that you asked for it over 3 rolls. Derrrr. Either way, first three rolls are what you see - all success.

You know I was reading through the old posts and wanted to make sure we're all on the same page about something regarding the moon - sorry if Torquemada made it confusing.

There's an old, dead colony on the moon. There's also the ad mech research facility on the moon, presumably studying the remains of the colony. Not the same thing.

There's no record at all whatsoever of the colony. Although it's not necessarily public knowledge, there IS a record of the ad mech facility, hence why Torquemada knew the name of the lead tech priest etc, the schematics, etc.

Let's see what Felyx can come up with for a cover story based on what he knows of the Mechanicum. Essentially, what are normal situations in which an ad-mech member might visit a station like this? Why would he bring a crew of outsiders? Assuming they find ad mech boys about the ship and can procure X amount of robes, how could he spin a story to reflect that?

Are there any modifiers based on what he has found in the vox transmission or his past?

So, on a pass I was hoping for some clues from you as to what the Mechanicus crew on this station might reasonably see as acceptable in terms of a group of people showing up. Even more so if we are able to acquire some Mechanicus garb/icons from this ship's technical crew.

Let's say you have a couple ideas for stories that could reasonably pass, provided you play the part well enough:

- Felyx found some mention of an ancient colony on the moon lost in some data bank, or in some obscure text. He didn't receive much support from his superiors, so he came alone and with a few henchmen to investigate for himself. His intention was to find something worthwhile or some shred of evidence of the ancient colony to bring back to his superiors to receive more funding for a more thorough investigation.

- Felyx was stationed on some nearby mechanicus outpost or research station. The station intercepted some "odd" radio transmissions and sent Felyx, with henchmen, to investigate and provide relief if need be. His orders were also to make sure any assets of potential value to the cult are safely secured in mechanicum hands, lest any uprising or trouble has occurred on the moon.

- Felyx is the poor schmuck tasked with surveying a whole swath of planets this backwoods sector of the galaxy. Orbital scans only reveal so much, so he is tasked with performing scans from upper atmosphere and poking around on foot when necessary for ancient civilizations, archeotech, and other sites of interest to the mechanicum.

Third one sounds least likely to get us murdered right off the bat. Thanks, boss.

If someone (felyx im assuming) wants to go ahead and give me a +30 tech use test, then I can include your atmospheric scan results in my next post.

I don't see logic as being applicable here. Unfortunately, Felyx is in a social situation. Moreover, he is attempting to convince this tech-adept to give away a valuable piece of equipment that he sorely needs to fulfill his own duties. Completely understandable. I suppose the focus on logic comes from the fact that they are both members of the Mechanicum and, at least in my head canon, much more enticed by logic than by appeals of emotion.

I don't see it as such. I see it as proof that this stranger, as you have mentioned, is the real deal and knows what he is doing/can deliver on his promises. Something of showing how the holy spirit can make someone walk again before passing around the donation plate. Regardless of how he responds, Felyx has a plan C.

I was considering asking Felyx if he could help me "improve" the contents of the medkit. Say, making a small electromagnet for extracting bullet fragments from wounds. That the sort of thing I could do? I wouldn't expect it to provide any real in-game bonus to medicae but it feels like a fun opportunity for an interaction.

Jeff, probably not. Going from the orbit to the moon can't take more than an hour two, if that. I'm sure you'll spend a few minutes in orbit performing the scans and discussing your game plan, but I don't think you'll really have time to try again without slowing down the party.

If you guys RP it really quick (in real life time) you can do it. I think everyone is super antsy to advance the game and I don't want to bog things down for the whole party with something that's just spotlighting you two.

You two deserve your time in the sun just like everyone else, but admittedly we've spent a lot of time focused on Felyx lately and I don't want the other players to feel neglected. So if you're gonna do it, make it quick.

You know the exact model. Everything looks normal from the outside. I imagine it as some heavy-lifting utility lander, able to carry the 40-man crew and associated supplies to build the research station and subsist there. No armaments, not warp capable.
