[Closed] Interest Check for a Live Game

Hey everyone,

I've been going over the idea of running a proper game over table top simulator or something similar. I wanted to make this post to see what the general interest on the site is for something like this and what times people would be available for it. I've made a when2meet, link at the bottom, for people to pick a time frame that they can sit down and knock out some gaming.

I know everbody's in different time zones, so please translate your availability to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) so we can find standard times that will work for everyone.

I figure this doesn't have to be just one game, if enough people are available at any time, please feel free to form your own sit down games. To facilitate this, when answering the When2meet, please respond here with the game systems you'd be interested in playing, and whether you want to GM or PC.

I'll start. My availability should be in there already. I'm willing to play in just about anything, but I'll GM for DnD3.5, 5e, and PF1e. I'm comfy on tabletop simulator, but I can make roll20 or another VTT work with some prep work.

Put in my availability (GMT -6 of here). I do recommend a use of Discord for voice chat. We don't need a server or anything we can just do a private group call.

I think we were also looking at board games and not just RPG games. I'm down for either. One shots might be fun as we can do a lot of systems/settings and rotate out as GMs.

I'm more of a board gamer player rather than teacher so I suck at running board games but will happily play

If we're doing RPGs I can GM anything from Infinity the RPG, FFG 40k, Delta Green, or my custom game Retrograde which is a Delta Green hack.

Eh.... I want to, but my timezone is sooooo way out, and I'd have to figure it out. I think it's GMT+10 or something like that.

Only thing I can really do is roll20 at this point.

I'm not interested in board games, am willing to GM or play a fair few different systems, but not going to be trying something new at this point.

Down for whatever you decide. Have some experience with Roll20 and I am currently in a 5E game with some friends.

I've filled it out, but don't really expect my times to sync up.

I figure, might as well try and find out. Besides, if a bunch of Aussie/NZ/Japan Bros all line up, have at it. The when2meet is to work through those problems. Also, I work swing, my schedule is about as fucked as it gets.

Mark, I don't see your times on the schedule, can anyone else confirm/deny?

I was imagining that if will is 10 hours ahead, then i am only 9 hours ahead. So I should be good around those times on Sunday.

Only thing is, I gotta see how long we would be gaming each time. I already have a roll20 game every Saturday.

Not sure if my wife will like me playing both days of the weekend.

Yep, only three on the schedule that I can see.

I don't imagine we'd be able to play for long each time - I know Murc has some long times listed when he is available, but we probably won't have much time when we have enough people available. I probably wouldn't be able to do it every weekend, I do have a third edition Shadowrun game I play in - currently through roll20; though when restrictions are lifted will move to face to face.

I've found that 3 hours or a tad less is the optimal time for online gaming. Not to long and not to short. I have the rule, as a GM, that it's a hard stop at 3 hours no matter what as well.

Filled my availability. I have some interest in playing an RPG at the moment (less interest in GMing at the moment), but with the caveat that I don't really want to commit to any game longer than any few sessions at this point.

Honestly I'm perhaps most interested in trying out board games on TTS - still have a live RPG going on discord but I haven't played a board game in weeks, I'm dying

Im in same time zone as Solo (-6) but I work nights, every other friday/sat/sunday off.

Free time posted. I am fairly sure I did the conversion from GMT to PDT correctly.

So close but so far. Need like one to two more people if there schedules match up.

With what we do have I can run one-shots for two players if we want (done it before can do it again).

Unfortunately, yeah. I think we need an absolute minimum of four preferably 5 able to do the same time to make it doable as an RP game.

Eh, my bare minimum is 2. As long as there is someone else other than the GM to talk to, lol. For one shots it doesn't really matter having a full party. Stuff is easily scalable.

Campaigns on the other hand... yeah it would need more and that's why I'd prefer one shots either from a single system or many. More games, more characters, don't need a connected story, nor do you need everyone present every day you play (the biggest one).

Yeah, I was talking in reference to campaigns. I'm not really a fan of one-shots for the most part - unless it's a whilst on hiatus game. It's great for some, just for me I prefer to invest my time in a campaign.
