MOVESDestiny’s Plaything: : At the beginning of each mystery, roll +Weird to see what is revealed about your immediate future.
- On a 10+, the Keeper will reveal a useful detail about the coming mystery.
- On a 7-9 you get a vague hint about it.
- On a miss, something bad is going to happen to you.
I’m Here For A Reason: There’s something you are destined to do. Work out the details with the Keeper, based on your fate. You cannot die until it comes to pass. If you die in play, then you must spend a Luck point. You will then, somehow, recover or be returned to life. Once your task is done (or you use up all your Luck), all bets are off
The Big Entrance: When you make a showy entrance into a dangerous situation, roll +Cool.
- On 10+ everyone stops to watch and listen until you finish your opening speech.
- On a 7-9, you pick one person or monster to stop, watch and listen until you finish talking.
- On a miss, you’re marked as the biggest threat by all enemies who are present
Dark Negotiator: You can use the manipulate someone move on monsters as well as people, if they can reason and talk (the Monstrous)
Resilience: You heal faster than normal people. Any time your harm gets healed, heal an extra point. Additionally, your wounds count as 1-harm less for the purpose of the Keeper’s harm moves.
I’ve Read About This Sort Of Thing: Roll +Sharp instead of +Cool when you act under pressure

HISTORY-
Mangas -
They are destined to be your mentor. Tell them how this was revealed. Mangas held Eshe aloft, arm raised to deliver what would have been the killing blow. Her body grew limp in his grasp, and then her eyes snapped open, casting a faint, milky grey light. Transfixed by excruciating pain, he had received a vision: he was meant to guide the young woman whose life he was on the verge of ending. The gods thought it would be funny to send her to him without preparing either of them for the encounter.
Mathew Leons -
Just friends, from school or work or something. Ask them what. Matt and Eshe have known each other since elementary, growing up together, before Matt moved away in high school. He never told her how he felt about her. When he moved away and started focusing on his goals, he didn’t think about her as much, but never forgot her. It wasn't until he happened to see her again during an assignment that the feelings came back. They were both happy to see each other again, but Matt is pretty sure she only sees him as a friend.
Sophia Chen -
A rival at first, but you came to a working arrangement. Eshe and Sophia had hunted the same creature once. At first they didn't realize it, but then began actively getting in one another's way until it almost got them both killed. Realising that they were better off alive and working together, they buried the hatchet... in the creature.
Daphne Terwilliger -
You are close blood relations. Ask them exactly how close. In retrospect, Mum's reticence to discuss her past and her taking the whole 'Chosen' thing seriously should have been a dead give away. Dorothy T. Daniat's life had been... complicated. In fact, Eshe had only learned of Daphne's existence quite recently. At her wits end with a particularly spiteful trickster spirit, she was stunned when her mum revealed that Eshe a) had an aunt who b) might be able to help, because c) "It was the bloody least she could do", and d) "No they were not going to talk about it."

BACKGROUNDMost of Eshe's family is involved in "the business" and she had grown up dreaming of joining her brothers, aunties and cousins in protecting and providing for their community, unaware of the unspoken consensus: this life was not for her. When she was not at school, she was kept busy with part-time jobs and all kinds of community programs. Before long, the tiny strip mall dojo/dance studio had become her second home as she gave dance and martial arts the energy and passion that she would have given the family business.
As she was locking up the dojo/studio for the night, a woman with brightly colored hair dressed in a short, glittery tulle dress and mismatched leggings appeared, seemingly out of no where. "Oh Eshe, you are better than I could have ever imagined!" She was so close that Eshe could smell sugary peppermint wafting off of her. "This must seem so strange to you. But don't worry! It will make even less sense soon!" She giggled, skipping away lightly and then stopped and called to Eshe who had gone back to locking up. "Oh, Eshe? You might try to fight it, but it will be easier for you once you embrace that you do not have a choice. Think of it like giving your fate a biiiiiiig hug! Who doesn't like hugs?" She exclaimed, hugging herself tightly and then waving frenetically at Eshe before doing a cartwheel and skipping away into the night. Eshe shook her head, laughing. The interaction had been weird, but at least the woman hadn't been violent... or gross. She hadn't intended on giving it a second thought.
Until the visions started.
Introducing Eshe, The Chosen Eshe is the chosen of an array of Trickster gods and spirits to stop the end of the world. At some point, her great-aunts and grand-mother pledged to give over the thrice-thirdborn to these tricksters in exchange for their blessings. Because of how vague prophecy can be, the tricksters have her tackling various potential pre-cursors to the end of the world and/or their own pet projects. They each insist that they are the only one that she can really trust.
What other players know starting outShe grew up with a large, loving, extended family, many members of which were involved in organized crime. She doesn't go into the details of their work often, but sometimes makes references to the life that she only ever got to experience from the margins
She is fairly laidback, but when pushed will be ruthless; something she clearly picked up from her family
Eshe is a martial artist and a dancer. She is particularly fond of ballet - the first style that she was taught. Before getting dragged into this work, she had dreamed of one day studying in sports medicine and still hopes to do so... one day
Her preferred weapon is a staff that can be used as is or as a Sanjiegun (3 part staff)
Her visions are never pleasant - whether terrible nightmares that leave her in a nauseated cold sweat, rapid fire images that come with icepick headaches, or a false reality that overlays her own...
She is destined to save the world... at some point... somehow... maybe?
