Awareness - Lucius notices that these machines are ill kept compared to most of the other stuff he's seen here. Its ancient even by ancient standards. Its all coated in dust. in fact, the whole room has dust on all surfaces, an inordinate amount. Looking over the rail (this room does have rails) you see that the floor is coated in dust. Its coated so much, in fact that the bottom layer of alcoves is half obscured - at least 1m deep if not somewhat deeper. This dust is in stark contrast to everything else you have seen here.

S Lore - There is little cover in here, the alcoves would only give you a few inches of cover, not worth using. However, there is nothing in here the looks like it would explode. In spite of the ancient area, the craftsmanship is good and you need not work about any structural failure. The 2 walls are also close enough to jump across, so should you need more space you can leap the gap. This is a close approximation:


F lore xenos - not the optimal lore, which only Sapiens and Tomasu have, but I will tell you that you have the feeling that this area has something to do with living, breathing xenos and not these robots youve been fighting. You have the idea that if you did scan the dust you would get returns for biological remains. Taking a sample may prove useful.

Just a quick suggestion, Heath.

Since the Muse is gender-fluid, rather than typing She/He or painstakingly referring to them as he and then as she separately (this broke my brain the last time), you can give them a gender neutral pronoun. Some options you might think about using are "they" or even "ze."

I have never heard the latter in person, but I use the former constantly in my classes to avoid misgendering.

Without going into details I'm not home and three or four attempts to send me home has failed because one person or another has bungled something and I remain where I am. I don't expect to get home any time soon but I try to have a look on the threads now and then to see how you fare.

I'm hoping this is still possible. The original plan was to keep the Technomancer/Bodyguards pinned on the steps; however, the IC has them making their way to the top of the dais at the same rate as Lucius jump packing. *Angry face intensifies*

Heath - can you clarify if the ground team has eyes on the enemies anymore? Secondly, can you give me modifiers to attack the dais itself?

Hydrako launched into the air to reach the top of the ziggurat. It was apparent that they weren't going to be able to head off the party at the crest, but it didn't matter. He and Lucius would form a beachead until the others arrived. As they cleared the top and disappeared from the view of those on the ground, he voxed on the squad channel in Draco cant. Six hostiles. The Phaeon looks weakened. Bodyguards forming a firing line. Draco, move to the top in support, with all haste.

Sapiens agreed with Uri'ss interpretation-the Phaeron was not yet fully activated. He started searching the space for power conduits (to de-power or overload local systems) and for sensitive systems that could be sabotaged.

Going to use my normal Move to start making my way up the pyramid. Just realised that (in keeping with Iovanus' backstory) I don't have Kraken rounds, so it's good ol' fashioned boltgun shells for me! totally not panicking Why I'm not doing anything else for now shall be explained in IC.

IC: Iovanus had, for the most part, silently followed Hydrako's orders and lead up until now, save for a few quiet mumblings when he was certain the squad's attention wasn't focused on him. In a way, he was relieved that their attention was on the mission at hand--if the stories were true, there's every chance that he would be killed on sight. But the new sights, sounds and scents that he was taking in were slowly proving difficult to bear--the arrival of extremely dangerous automatons only compounded his anxiety. Never before had Iovanus felt so alone.

"Am I to assume that my orders are to destroy these xenos?" Iovanus asked, to no-one in particular.

Never got an action for Grimmnir, Bleda, or Cassiel, I assume full run actions forwards for the time being, Grimmnir can sprit and get 12m up the steps, Tomasu will do the same (they both have sprint)

I didnt have anything from Lucius either, but Im under the impression hes holding for Hydrako and Serephan to get into the position for an attack run? Correct me if Im wrong.

Grimnir sprinted forward, his speed startling for one not in power armour. Noticing the son of Kharn hot on his heels he flashed him a backwards glance and a pointed toothed grin and surged forward. It was a friendly challenge, even a petty one but still the wolf relished it. He knew that that Tomasu knew that it would be no contest if they were evenly armoured.

Heath, per site DoS/DoF rules, I count Lucius' attack at 6 DoS rather than 5. PC Sheet krak grenade count updated.

He made sure it was buried before triggering the explosive and pulling himself free amidst these enemies.

"For Kill Team Draco, the Primarchs, and the Emperor!" His voice bellowed as the krak detonated nearby.

So Lucius hits the dais (I suggest reading the IC in the surprise round) for what happens, but the dais suffers 7 damage.

Hmm new rules issue. Should outnumbering a vehicle count for the +10? I still say double team counts as long as you have the talent. Minimum you against 101 and max 101 because the max bonus is +60 anyway. So 5 dos.

OOC: Just gonna carry on moving up, IIRC I move 10m as my Full Action. So long as I'm not at the head of the buffet table group, I'm okay.

IC: Gripping his bolter tightly, Iovanus whispered a silent chant to himself, beseeching the Emperor for His protection during these dark, tumultuous times. As he made his way up towards the dais, he hoped that his experience in the Great Crusade would be enough to see him through this battle, after which would hopefully come many explanations.

Hydrako could feel the rest of the squad swarm up the ziggurat as he took to the sky. As he reached the top of his flight arc, he felt a pause in time before the pull of gravity drew him back to earth. It took a moment for him to scan area for targets and locate the dais their xenos ally had described. That and the engine flare from Lucius' own turbines as he streaked forwards with krak in hand. He expected to see a rent appear in the skin of the throne, but when the krak bounced away he knew there was more than met the eye. His nostrils flared in irritation, and his teeth ground together, starting a fresh flow of blood. Gravity's hold took over then and would not be denied.

Lucius' attack had given Hydrako an opening to exploit. While the creature was pre-occupied with the Nova Marine, it was no longer watching the sky. If it was, it would see the pale death spearing down as a comet from the void. Hydrako twisted in his fall and became a streaking bolt of retribution cast from the Emperor's own hand. He led with his shoulder and struck the dais in a flash of light with the kinetic energy of a meteor striking earth. The dais was rocked back by the combined impact of the Carcharodon and the ordinance he carried. It was his godslayer weapon and he would see the construct reduced to slag.
