Hey all. This is going to for general discussion about the game overall rather than the in depth in game talk.
First up, have you had any thoughts on what roles would you like your characters to be? While it is not essential that two characters don't occupy the same roles, a more balanced team will give you more options in how you progress.

I'd like to play an arbitrator; I was thinking someone from a high-born family, possibly the son of a Judge or Marshall, who was transferred to a hive precinct for reasons unbeknownst to him and then had to grind his way up to achieve the role of enforcer.
Focus would likely be on investigation, a seeker or maybe warrior.
Alternatively, I was thinking a bodyguard or enforcer formerly employed by one of the merchant houses.

Thinking about it, would I be able to use the arbites background to play something more akin to a local planetary police officer, rather than an actual member of the arbites? Perhaps Outcast would be a better choice?

Outcast tends to be more of a grouping for character's operating more on the fringes and outside Imperial control. If you wanted it you could play an enforcer from a planet that had been cut off from the rest of the Sector for a generation or two.
Otherwise I'd be happy for you to use the Arbitrator background but play an Enforcer- it would be the closest. Noble born background could also be useful as you will likely have interactions with the local nobility.
Also between a Chirurgeon, Penitant and poss Enforcer, that sounds like a good mix so far.
I am still torn between Arbites Seeker or Administratum Sage. Looking at the mix i think the Sage would be more fitting.
Or maybe that Ministorum Hierophant who likes flamers a bit too much

A sage would give us some much-needed Intelligence and Lore.
If we have too much overlap with Arbites, I've always wanted to play a Sororitas character (and I have a concept for one that I would be interested in playing), so I'd be totally fine doing that too!

I will go with a Mechanicus Sage - that seams to be a very interesting combination

Nice work, you've established a pretty varied team. Once you can get the stats rolled and characters written out we can start this. I'm excited.
I can handle social reasonably well. I certainly won't be going round shock-mauling people; I wanted to steer well-clear of the Judge Dredd stereotype!

My character will likely have decently good Fellowship too, but definitely in more of a commanding, holier-than-thou way.

I love everything about this sentence.

I am sure they will be just a delight lol.
OK, I won't go for a Face then. I had really high hopes for something I wanted to keep hush hush, but it might not pan out. Even if it doesn't, I am going to see if I can recycle some elements. Keep everyone guessing. In fact, other than the personality/background, I might keep my PC sheet private and share it only with the GM. I haven't done that yet and have been dying to see how it changes the group dynamic.

Haha Thanks. I know that DH has it's roots in the wargame but I think that many of the elements of the universe present in 40k simply aren't an accurate reflection of the overall setting; at least not for most of its imperial citizenry. I hope my character design reflects this 'other side'.

Hi Nita,
I have some gear-related questions for you.
Do we have to use our scarce picks for scarce items or can we use them for common stuff? I quite fancied another common handgun as a back-up.
Do we get clothing free as standard?
Can we buy rare ammo types with a pick?
Can i purchase a vehicle?
Cheers!

100% agree. The rules also aren't necessarily friendly to team buff/enemy nerf characters, so my PC will tend to be something of that.
TO ADD TO THE GEAR QUESTIONS:
I have a VERY RARE Disguise Kit that doesn't fit my background or PC concept at all. Is it possible to trade this for another VERY RARE piece of gear?
Letting folks know, crisis teams were activated as of last night and I will be putting in 14 hour days for the next three weeks extendable for time of current crisis. Bot me as needed and stay safe, wash your hands, and limit face to face.

Best wishes.

Hey all, looking through the forums and I have to (and hate to) ask:

It's been almost three years to the day, so I'm not optimistic this game will come back to life... Still, it was fun while it was active, and I like to think that this way Tessera gets to live on unharmed by the critical hit table or the taint of Corruption points

God, dude I did not even realize I asked nearly 3 years to the day. I will reach out privately to Nitafrong and see what he wants to do in this regard as well.
So yeah, good call to check in on this. I had been meaning to get an update up for a bit, but other things have kept getting in the way for a while, and its clearly past the point of resuscitation now. Odd we are almost back at the Ides of March.
First of, I'd like to thank everyone who has taken part in this, with special thanks to FelicitousPsychicFerret. Tessera's story was entirely unplanned, and ended up being a huge amount of fun. I'm sorry though my attention progressively went elsewhere and the time that you, and everyone else put into this, ended up with no firm conclusion. You've all been stars and deserved a bit better from me. To be honest, I've ended up getting into writing out a novel and that's ended up taking a lot of my creative energy.
This was my first homebrew GM and I think I've learned quite a bit. I was debating posting the rest of the plot, but I still like the setting and the basic plot, so I think someday I'll do something else with it, perhaps in a way that's less dense.
Anyways, cheers again, and see you on another thread!

Thanks Nitafrong ^^ Also best of luck on the novel, that sounds cool!

I also should apologize at least in some part to you, Domhnall/Nita. I absolutely loved the PC I cooked up for this game, but the pains of real ass career life took more of my time away, and I couldn't dedicate what I needed to here.
Cheers to one and all. I will move this thread shortly.
