So, Obligations. I'd like to take Duty Bound to cover my body guarding duties and then perhaps take a roll and weave it into my ex-law enforcement background. Asking as its a table and infers you roll. Happy to roll, but seems like a good table to have 'options' on.

I havent looked at the books yet, but Im going to go human medic route.
Thinking a gizzled/cynical veteran whos seen too much to be optimistic about anything.

So you're looking at a colonist with the doctor specialization (both in the core book). Humans are also in the core book.

Nice nice, glad to see things are rolling along. 

Feel free to pick your Obligation so that it fits with your character best. If you want to roll, go for it. Also, it is fine to have more than one obligation, but remember that these add up. Also don't forget you can make your Obligation more difficult or more...obligating...which is apparently a word, and get some extra XP or credits for that.

I personally like videos to help explain the rules a bit, so feel free to give it a watch if you want. They also have some longer ones for Character Creation, but I assume those videos have tons of information about every single type of character and aren't as necessary.

Alright, we still need to decide on a starting ship so I'll list my top 5 with pros and cons.

1. YKL-37R Nova Courier (Fly Casual Pg.56)
- Pros: Good armament, good handling, okay cargo space, good for customization
- Cons: Not all that common

2. VCX-100 Light Freighter (Keeping The Peace Pg.63)
- Pros: Good Armament, great defenses, great cargo space, good for customization
- Cons: Big, bad handling, not all that common, rarity of 8, connection to infamous vessel among the Imperials (Ghost)

3. YT-1300 Light Freighter (Core Book Pg.264)
- Pros: Common, good cargo space, good for customization
- Cons: Average stats

4. Barloz-Class Medium Freighter (Keeping The Peace Pg.63)
Pros: Common, good cargo space, good for customization
Cons: Average stats, poor handling

5. YV-929 Light Freighter (Dangerous Covenants Pg. 68)
- Pros: Excellent Armament
- Cons: Average stats, up-gunned (might warrant to much attention at times), crappy cargo space, no room for customization

Very cool Solo. I like the list and I am fairly open to the craft you guys get. Thanks for the links as well. 

So, let's talk about the beginning. 

1) Do you guys want to already have an established group on your ship, heading to the next point of interest? I will give you guys time on the ship to get acclimated and show how you are together. 

OR

2) Do you guys want to be complete strangers thrown into this together and pick it up along the way? 

I know which one I like more and will probably do, but I am just asking your opinions on the matter. 

**Also, regarding Character Creation, I realized it might be a good idea to put down how many Ability Dice and how many Proficiency Dice you will get when rolling your character skills. You can do this simply by putting down green and yellow. For example, 1 G, 2 Y. This will save time when asking you for a check.**

Solo, I like 1 or 3. Keep the ship's average at game start. Good handling seems important as does keeping a low proile.

Mark, personally I favor already knowing one another - at least in some capacity.

So as far as the ship is concerned, we have most people liking the 1st option. I believe 4 people are keen on it, including Solo, so we will be going with that. 

I should be able to post it tonight along with the Prologue to start things up while we flesh out the character sheets. If it doesn't happen tonight, expect it at some point tomorrow.

Hey everybody, looks like things are starting to move a bit. Let's get some more IC in the prologue! (If you mentioned on LINE that you haven't been able to, it's all good, get to it when you can)

So, on the character sheets or at least what they put on the pen and paper ones, there are a few things that are a bit confusing and some that are not completely necessary. 

Defense
This is gained by armor or by taking certain stances or movements in combat. The default for this is zero. I also failed to put it on the character sheets, but you have 3 different defense ratings. General Defense, Ranged Defense, and Melee Defense. Whatever armor you get will help with this, but if you have none currently, it will be at zero for these values. Defense rating will add SETBACK die for each point of defense concerning attacks made against you. 

Soak Value
This is how much you can soak before you take any wounds. It is equal to your Brawn rating plus any other armor you may wear currently. Certain talents can also help increase your soak value. For example, Dave's droid DY-50-N has a Soak Value of 6 (3 Brawn + 2 Armor +1 Enduring Talent). 

Complications (Under Obligations)
This is mainly for fluff. You can expand upon your Obligation here, although you can also do this in the background, so it might be redundant. However, this could be a good place to put down why your Obligation is 10 instead of 5. Why did the obligation become more...obliging?....yeah sure that works. You can put down how much more complicated it has become, which could help explain the increase in magnitude from 5 to 10. 

Motivations
This is another place where you can help explain your motivations for your character. What do they want exactly? Some people are okay with their obligations and some wish to be rid of them...well most wish to be rid of them. Dave has put down that DY-50-N wishes for Freedom, which is understandable considering he has two different factions after him. Feel free to put something here or don't. You can always tell me in your background character information as well. 

Skills
And a final note, be sure to list those dice next to your skills! It will help make combat go a bit faster and helps me greatly. Basically, the amount of GREEN dice (Ability dice) is determined by the Characteristic attached to this skill. The amount of YELLOW dice (Proficiency dice) is determined by your proficiency or ranks with the skill. For example, Azza's wookie pilot Tuth is going to make a Pilot (Planetary) check. He has Agility 3 and Pilot (Planetary) 1. This means he has 3 GREEN dice (Ability) due to his Agility score and he may upgrade one of those into one YELLOW dice (Proficiency). Thus, when he makes the check he will roll 2 Ability dice and 1 Proficiency die (Green Green Yellow) or (GGY).   

If you need help with an example, take a look at Solo's sheet for Nulyn. That's what I am looking for.

Just a clarification your green dice is equal to the highest of your Skill or Characteristic and the lower then upgrages greens to yellows.

Ah right right. So if those numbers were reversed, Pilot (Planetary) 3 and Agility 1, it would yield the same outcome, GGY. The higher number is the Green (Ability) and the lower upgrades those to Yellow (Proficiency).
