Background:
Shaw wasn't exactly a decent man. He tried college, but books weren't for him. After hopping around between jobs for a while, he picked up some real world wisdom and wound up as a professional driver. Trucker pay isn't great, but he was lucky enough to get a company card on trips and whatever he had left he sent home to the wife and kid. For a while the road was great, open, simple, he could listen to audio books and play phone games while he drove and he was happy. But the road soon became boring, after so many trips down an empty highway it loses its luster. Jake wasn't about to give up the only job he'd been able to hold though, and instead got more and more 'lax about his work. It started with the phone games, then no seatbelt, missing delivery times, and finally drinking and driving. None of it was a huge issue until the crash. Shaw walked away from a 70 mph head-on with nothing but a lighter and a 2 person body count. That was the last time he was lucky.

Jake Shaw went to court, 5 years for vehicular manslaughter, license revoked, no parole for 1 year. He went in for the full 5, came out to an empty house and unemployment. His particular skills got him a job as a mechanic, and with a bit of training, Shaw was able to work on most any automotive issue and had a fairly wide range of cars he understood and could service. He was rebuilding his life from the ground up, and he thought everything might've been going good recently...

Appearance:

Shaw is a man in his late 30's, though with his total lack of self-care, smoking, drinking, and unhealthy eating/exercise habits, he looks closer to his mid-40's. Under a gratuitous belly is just enough muscle to get by, and Shaw tucks it away in dirty jeans and a smudged shirt, though he changes into pj's when he's at the house.

This looks like a fantastic character for this game. Nothing special, just a Mr. Fix it who can handle himself in a bar brawl. I fucking love the concept.

I will need a couple days to go over everything and make sure all the crunch is right, but I am sure any fixes will be minimal. Excellent edge pick too, btw.

Just gave this another quick glance from work - looks really solid. I can't wait to see this build in action. Absolutely love that background story. It's details like that that will make the loss of this character all the more real.
