- Sharp. That is how one would describe Gazini. From his eyes to his cheek bones to his one good ear. His face is sharp like a vigilant hawk accentuated by sharper features. Green eyes shine from beneath a scowling brow. His head is shaved bald and one of his ears is half as long as the other, looking as though a wild animal had bitten it half off. But underneath all of the scars and seeming anger is a fierce pride.
He has an athletic build. His legs and arms are corded in muscle making him nearly as strong as he is fast. He wears the traditional tribal clothes of his people when going on long marches under light studded leather armor. He dons a travel bag which holds essentials and not much else. There's a heavy wooden shield next to two javelins strapped to his bag near an assortment of weapons. Favored among them is his Iklwa, chosen weapon of the
embi.
Personality:
There once was a time when Gazini was carefree, whether it be in work or warfare. Those days have long since passed. The world has taken its toll on the young Hobgoblin warrior as he has watched friends and family perish at the unfair hands of fate. He is a hard shell to crack, not trusting of outsiders and every present of danger and treachery. Having said that, he is not the "strong and silent" type. He is outspoken and lets his opinion be known regardless of how that may make others feel.
He is driven and extremely motivated. Skilled in battle, he toes a fine line between disciplined fighter and raging berserker. Though since the decimation of his clan, he has been pushed ever further toward the latter. When fighting with the
embi he tries to maintain strict discipline over his emotions lest he compromise his comrades. Sometimes, however, he cannot prevent it.
Background:
Gazini was born into a tribal unit of hobgoblins dedicated to ensuring the survival of their people. Oppressed for hundreds of years, they strove for nothing more than to maintain their honor in a world that had little. Swift and strong, he and his brother were raised to be
embis, the chosen warriors of the clan. In this aspect of life they excelled. Gazini listened to his elders, trained his body and mind, and learned from his mistakes. By the time he reached maturity, he was proficient with the
iklwa and shield and a fine marksman with the javelin. But beneath all of his training and technical ability, burns a deep seated passionate rage. There were times when he found himself losing control and letting the beast within him speak. During these episodes time slowed down for the warrior and he could feel no pain, enabling him to perform greatfeats of strength or dexterity. But his rational mind was also lost.
When the war between his chief's clan (M'bali's father) and the vampire-hobgoblin Herewak's forces broke out, Gazini and his brother were called to war. Though victorious in the initial stages, Herewak had split his forces, sending half of his army around M'bali's father's forces and laying siege to the the fortress there. When those same forces doubled back, the army that Gazini and his brother were apart of were crushed between a rock and a hard place and wiped out. Luckily, Gazini and his brother were out scouting. When the dust settled, they set out to find M'bali, their one link to their tribe and sworn leader.
