In his time on Jade Reach, Ian saw massive amounts of weapons demonstration, demolition, area control, and other various Private Military Contractor work. From his youth he stuck out among the crowd of gentle intellectuals that were typical for his class and instead decided to rely on the sword more than the pen. By his graduating year from his schooling on planet (roughly age 18) he had already assembled a gang of about 40 like minded individuals who were willing to go to some pretty extreme lengths for their surprisingly charismatic leader.
After graduating Ian didn't even allow the thought of going to a secondary school to learn any trades or to learn a fine art or any other "weak willed" subjects of the like. He instead opted to spend his time disassembling high powered explosives and putting them back together in a somewhat remote warehouse. After perfecting his craft of assembling explosives he began on his PMC work he was so widely known for on Jade Reach.
But oh the faults of man! Ian was unfortunate enough to dry out all of his luck before he retired. After a 24 karat streak of bad luck he was taken off the field and put into intel, for a rival gang no less! He was severely mistreated for all his time working under them. Eventually, Ian resolved to do one last demotion project; he was going to blow up the rival PMC's HQ. After successfully detonating all 10 tons of explosives within the base Ian jumped planet with due haste.
Ian now finds himself with a group of equally "free" people, praying to pay off his debts to the many companies he served and failed so that he could eventually turn a profit and squash the rival gang and return home.
