Curious Case of the Black Box - IC Empty

“Space is for everybody. It’s not just for a few people in science or math, or for a select group of astronauts. That’s our new frontier out there, and it’s everybody’s business to know about space.”Christa McAuliffe

Sometimes the call for money puts you in situations you'd rather not be in. You start taking shady jobs from fixers you only know second hand or taking on postings from Triple H that are way below your pay grade. Hopefully you catch a lucky break from doing menial milk runs, snatch and grabs, or escort duty.

The crew of the Bucket are hopping that this job is just that. All they got was a set of coordinates and the task of retrieving a black box. It was paying out at 70,000 with negotiated hazard pay at an additional 30,000. So a sweet 100,000 for a snatch and grab.

The massive bubble canopy of the H-20 was presented with the endless black as it marched along at a .3G burn. That was more or less comfy for all on board. Not strong enough to cause problems for the low gravity adapted but for any Earther it still made you feel weightless and less attached to the ground. They had been traveling for 3 days now after leaving Ganymede.

If anyone was on the bridge or observation deck below it you were being subjected to Remi's eclectic taste in music. Stuff dating back to the late 20th century mixed in with synth heavy beats of the 40s and some Ceres Pier-7 Rap sprinkled in for good measure. It was great for the first day but it started to drag on the second and now on the third it was like someone was beating the hull with PDC fire. Luckily, Nikolay has the Bucket already flipped around and performing her deceleration burn. It meant they were on their final approach.

So when Remi's music cut out 2 hours later everyone noticed. From Remi's cursing it wasn't him who stopped it.

Nate's Midwestern accent comes across the ship's internal comms. "I have a blip. No active transponder. Dead in the water by the looks of it. She's sitting right at the coordinate points. Running a scan on her now."

Augery:

A clipped whistle rings from the comms. "She's a goddamn giant. I'm reading 600 meters long and a width of 200. No signs of life that I can see and her engines are shot. No weapons of any kind. She's got a few big ass holes in her stern and port quarter."

A radar image of the vessel in question pops up for all those to see on their consoles.

[Anyone can give me a History +0 or a INT -20.]

"I'm going to run what we got through our Sil-sim database and see what pops but a true visual will get us the best results." Remi adds in.

Curious Case of the Black Box - IC Empty
PostSubject: Re: Curious Case of the Black Box - IC   Curious Case of the Black Box - IC EmptyThu Sep 05, 2019 1:25 am

Brando De'Valenti was in his usual "Relaxing Spot" on the Ship, when not on duty for his role as allotted "Security Officer Onboard". . .

The small, but comfy and well-equipped kitchenette (with all the cooking equipement smartly secured against "Zero-G" floating, sudden bursts of deceleration-accelleration and other "Hazards-Of-The-Black") confining with the insulated, "Dry-Frosted" pantry. . .

That one contained a little TOO FEW "Good Stuff" there, especially for drinking SERIOUSLY, and a little TOO MUCH "MRE-Ration" level kind of fare, for His "Refined Upbringing" tastes. . . . .even if the MISERABLE level of "Field Cooking" of the Italian Carabinieri had LOWERED considerably His "Tastebuds Tolerance Height". . . . .!!!

. . . . .

Hearing the Intercom Message then Brando stopped abruptly His "Experimental International Cooking" (as His two best pals on the crew were Russians, the Italian Ex-MP, had tried to "Link-Up" a traditional "Cossak Recipe" of "River Anchoises Marinated In Vodka-Akvavit" with a typical "Spaghetti-Pasta with Tomatos and Fishes" kind of Southern Italy first course. . .!!) and put the "Slow-Forming Foodstuff" on the keep-warmer insulator. . .

. . . . .

The kitchen-apron (with a "Smiley" with an Italian Moustache and Chef-Tophat) was quickly put away (revealing on the Spacesuit Undersuit worn under a Military Belt with the Heavy Pistol and the collapsible Stun-Stick ALWAYS worn, when NOT sleeping) and then Brando quickly rappelled towards the Bridge, with the help of the "Void-Helper" handles in the corridors. . .

. . . . .

"Madonna del Santuario di Tycho, Salvaci dal Vuoto !!!" was softly uttered by Brando, upon seeing the enormous Junked-Hulk floating in the middle of nowhere (a traditional Italian-Spacers invocation of the protection of the "Holy Mother of Tycho-Crater Cathedral, Saviour from the Void's Hazards" usually called when seeing Sidereal Accidents. . .!!). . .

The Ex-Carabinieri Officer, unconsciously, was touching His "Luck Talisman" a Golden-Plated Selenium-Steel Cross, hung upon His neck, and studded with a fragment of the Cornerstone of the first Catholic Church built by Italians on the budding Moon Town (where the Roman Church has proclaimed the first "True-To-The-Faith" extra-terrestrial Miracles !!!), and inheritance of His pious Mother, thrice-blessed by His cousin, the aging (but still spry) Giovanni De'Valente, Cardinal of Luna. . . . .!!!

. . . . .

"I'm NOT so proficient in Voidfarers History as You friends, but I smell the stink of Pirates there ! I go immediatly to wear My Suit and take My Guns !! Even if twice-damned Corsairs are NOT there I will gladly escort ANY of You that wants to explore the vessel and see if there are still-breathing Survivors. . .OR any kind of Traces / Proofs that could help us understand what transpired. . .!!"

. . . . .

While in the Armoury to grab His trusty Longarms (a Beretta AR70/120 Carbine, optimized for Sniper Marksmanship, and a Franchi-Benelli short, compact and sturdy "Spacer Boarding Shotgun") then Brando uttered a call on the intercom. . .

"Remi, my Middle-Eastern Hacker Friend! Do You need to be PHYSICALLY present on the Hulk to run a Diagnostic Scan of their Box, or it is simply that we carry a Longwave Radio Repeater-Modem there, so that You stay there safely on the 'Bucket. . . . .??"

While awaiting for the Iranian Netrunner answer Brando quickly loaded the Pump-Action Shotgun with "Plasti-Glue Slugs", the MOST useful Shells for unknown situations on "The Black". . .very smart for stop-gapping atmo-leaking fissures of various dimensions. . . . .and VERY useful to "Nail-Down" on a surface any kind of "Enemy". . . . .!!!

Not FORCEFULY of the "Space Pirate Kind". . . . .an half-crazed survivor, with the mind scrambled by lack of Oxygen, running towards would-be succourers with a Sharp Multitool, was AS MUCH dangerous than any kind of Drug-Reaver with an Assault Submachinegun. . . . .!!!

PostSubject: Re: Curious Case of the Black Box - IC   Curious Case of the Black Box - IC EmptyFri Sep 06, 2019 9:06 am

Lying on his bunk with an Ereader at hand Finley got up to have a look at the image of the ship at his console.
Throwing the Eraeder at his bunk he mutters: "Havent seen such biggies that close since i left Argo."
The Ereader an old and scrapped thing showing scraps and marks where it hit walls and other stuff while not secured in zero G sinks slkowly onto the bunk while Finley reaches for the internal coms.

"I am going to get my suit and the other stuff ready when we reach our designation."

The E reader still glows in the dark when Finley leaves for the small medical bay to grab his First Responder Medkit moves to the armoury to get his other stuff ready.

As he enters through the door hes looking at this italian "Security Officer" getting ready with his guns.

Nikolay was on the bridge when the first contact happened.

"Ï've never seen a ship like that", he muttered more to himself then to anybody else.

With a quick press he activated the interecom
"Any of you any idea what we found ourself here?"

Curious Case of the Black Box - IC Empty
PostSubject: Re: Curious Case of the Black Box - IC   Curious Case of the Black Box - IC EmptySun Sep 08, 2019 5:59 pm

"A black box is air-gaped and doesn't transmit anything other than an emergency beacon. I'm not getting any transmissions from the wreck so it's safe to assume the batteries in the black box are dead. I also don't need to go aboard... as long as you bring back the black box intact of course." Remi answers Brando.

"Your guess is as good as mine, Nik." Nate says. "For her size she should be a carrier of sorts but I've never seen a carrier like this."

Nate knew what he was talking about after 13 years with the United States Navy and 6 more with Stellar America. He was just as knowledgeable about spacecraft as anyone on the Bucket.

"I just serve on them so... yeah." Remi states.

In the crammed arms room of the Bucket Brando and Finley dance around each other prepping for a possible boarding action. They bump into each other more then once and get themselves into some awkward situations...

30 minutes later the Bucket was within visual range of the wreck. That also meant they were about 10 minutes out from reaching boarding distance.

Remi uses the chin mounted camera array to focus in on the wreck.

Curious Case of the Black Box - IC Jort-v10

It's a mess and the ship's sensors light up with a massive debris field surrounding it. Making things worse the whole wreck was rotating along its axis counterclockwise and spinning from stern to bow. Getting aboard is going to be a challenge.

"Sil-sim has come back with a match." Remi giddily says.

"Niet ... the Stars In Our Eyes?! Stop with the stupid jokes. Are you sure Remi?"

Nikolay was studying the sensor readouts. The debris field appeared safe enough to traverse safely.
He grapped his notebook out of the air and started to scribble a possible course in his unreadable handwriting.

"Anyway, i will plot route through the debris. Let's see if we can find suitable docking place."

With the flipping of switches, the ship started to roll into his planned approach vector.

Curious Case of the Black Box - IC Empty
PostSubject: Re: Curious Case of the Black Box - IC   Curious Case of the Black Box - IC EmptyWed Sep 11, 2019 7:48 am

"What the damned f. . . .L'OLANDESE VOLANTE QUI. . . the Flying Dutchman, here. . . . .???"

Brando ALMOST sweared when the informations were available. . .

This was starting to seem a set-up, for the suspicious, demi-paranoid Italian Security Officer. . .

A mythological, legendary Starship that disappeared many, Many, MANY years ago and SUDDENDLY, a rust-bucket ship with a crew of five nobodies is given the EXACT coordinates to find it, with instructions to retrieve the PRECIOUS "Black Box". . .??

. . . . .

Not that the stalwart veteran would have faltered at the prospect of entering there; EVEN if the star-crash infos would have been useless for the Parent Company that financed the venture, for the Catholic Christian Ex-Policeman far MORE important would have been the whereabouts of the disappeared crewmember for the still-grieving relatives. . .

. . . . .

"Remi, My good hacker friend, we will unbolt and unscrew WHATEVER is useful there in that Junked Hulk, but now, please use Your "Interweb-Magick" to fish-out any, and I daresay repeat ANY, weird rumor about the Ship, the Parent Company, Crewmembers, their Family and Collaterals. . .!!"

"What was a so-called Jupiter-Explorer could have been INSTEAD a proscribed Military or Corporate Experiment. . .something that would have been a TOO APPETIZING "Target Of Opportunity" for their rivals. . .or simply SO PRECIOUS that one of the FIRST, EARLIEST scumbag-crew of Space Pirates had tried to take it by force. . . . .!!"

"And what We know about the Dealers of our work? I sense the VERY smelly old-fish stink of trap. . . . .and there is NO STINK on the Black. . .!!"

. . . . .

Then the fully-armoured / fully-suited "Space Gendarme" approached a little nearer the piloting consolles, scrunching a little his jet-black eyes while flexing, unconsciously, His prostethic cyber-arm. . .

"Nikolay, my friend, NOT that I doubt Your EXCELLENT Prowess as a Star-Pilot. . .but those big pieces of junks pinballing around our target I don't like at all. . .!!"

"Before igniting the After-Burners of the Bucket, there is PERHAPS the option that I go outside, firmly secured to our Hull-Tethers, and shoot down these infringing metal rocks. . .??"

"EVEN with Armor Piercing Bullets of My trusty Sniper Carbine I will not do overmuch than DENT that pieces-of-plating, a forty years old notwithstanding. . .!!"

"But they are freely carousing, spinning and dancing on the Void. . .!!"

"A good placed strike would have them spin AWAY from our predicted path. . . . .!!"

"We Italians prize ourselves with Billiard Prowes. . .even if My pool-cue is a 5,56mm. NATO Full-Metal-Jacket. . . . .!!"

"What do You say, my friends. . . . .???"

"What do You say, my friends. . . . .???"

"What did you just say?!"
Surprised Nicolay turns around as far as he can to until he faces the Italian.
"Nobody leaving ship during the flight. Nobody shooting debris and making more debris. Are you not confident in my skills?"

He turns around just in time to evade a rather large piece of wreckage. The bucket's hull groaning under the stress of the evasive maneuver.
Nikolay flips the switch and activates the intercom:

"This is your captain speaking. You may experience some turbulences. If you see any debris closing in fast, just prepare for impact. G-Forces may exceed
the expected and recommended limits."

"I suck at telling jokes. Even if I did joke... I wouldn't say we just found one of the most famous lost ships during the Age of Space Flight for shits and giggles!" Remi says appearing to take serious offense thinking he'd joke about something like that.

"I say our payday just got a lot bigger, boys. This black box is worth at least thirty to fifty times more then what our fixer's client wants. If that doesn't work... well I know some people that would pay well for the info on that box." Nate says rubbing his hands together. "Everyone here wouldn't be opposed to becoming millionaires would they? Thought not."

As the crew blabbers on Nikolay with a slight flick on the right control stick propels the Bucket forward towards the debris field. With fine adjustments to the left control stick he dances around debris. Nate, at his station off to Nik's right, calls out any incoming pieces that the Soviet can't see or predict. The American sure does know his stuff, that's for sure, as the two work in unison to get through unharmed.

Coming to a halt the Bucket was faced with a spinning behemoth.

"I'm not in the pilot's chair but a quick suggestion for someone who's watched many do this. I say we just match the spin and tumble and string Brando and Finley out. Trying to dock up with this bitch isn't going to be easy, safe, or maybe even possible. Do we have any kind of airlock that would work for us? Remi?" Nate says.

"Way ahead of you, Nate. There's some compatible airlocks on the center axis point of the front ring. Well, more of less big enough that ours would work." Remi answers.

Listening wiith one ear to the babble of his shipmates while doing a second check on his space suit Finley starts to think about the implications of their scavanger hunt.

With the dryest voice Finley can manage over the intercom whbe they were shaken:
No Boom yet, Capn, you missed a chance.

Nikolay begins to rotate Bucket in a fast spin and then slowly matches tumble of Stars In Our Eyes. The effect slowly materializes in front of the pilot's eyes as Stars In Our Eyes seems to be slowing down... in actuality Bucket is now just moving just as fast and in the same direction giving the appearance the two are completely still.

With all that spinning and tumbling the crew is subjected to some high g-forces.

Nathan:

Remi:

Brando:

The genetic modifications that were given to him from the consummate cosmonaut program don't let the high g-forces effect Nikolay. For everyone else onboard though blood is being pulled away from the brain.

Brando, Finley, and Remi all pull through but for Nathan, even with some help from some G Cocktail, his arms slowly rise up and his eyes roll back into his head. He was out cold.

The ship slowly pushes in towards one of the compatible airlocks. Bucket clamps on and is now connected to Stars In Our Eyes.

With a fine dose of thermite gel and some extra muscle from the bulkhead shears Finely is able to rip open the airlock doors. The compartment must of still been slightly pressurized as two bodies come flying in... well skeletons that were only together still because they were in skin suits. The tags on their suits read:

Erica Jordan; United States; Engineering
Marco Calmente; Italy; Engineering

Finley falls back into his professional skill and experience to deal with the remenants of the crew.

Remi, we got to of the crew here could you check there names with teh crew list of the ship? he asks over the comlink.

Brando, can you watch out for anything else? I dont want them to drift around. Its neither save nor dignified. he tells his ship mate who took the lead through the airlook as he pulls out humanities greatest gift to the universe. A roll of duct tape to fix the remenants to one of the bulkheads.

I hope someone else will come here and bring them to their family and getting them a proper funeral.

It was only after the docking completed, that Nikolay realized that Nate was floating unconscious in his seat. He checked his pulse to make sure that he was still alive. When he was certain that his copilot was just having a nap, he proceed to shut down the main engines and other non needed systems.

After that he called up some schematics of the Stars In Our Eyes. He tried to match them to the wreckage right outside his cockpit.

"Finley, do you guys do have any idea where you need to go?"

Brando:

Something about the bodies unlocked something in the back of Brando's mind. Was it from an old case he worked, maybe an old friend that never came back from the black, or just the lose of life of these two? Whatever it was it came roaring back to the front of his mind. He has to fight back some tears, tries to touch his cross but remembers he's in a spacesuit, and averts his eyes away from the floating dead.

Finley, not unnerved by the dead, uses the great gift of duck tape to secure the two bodies back into Stars In Ours Eyes airlock. Brando floats on by trying not to look at them and makes sure the rest of the area is clear. It was. The only thing here was the bodies.

"Yep, those two are on the crew list. Seem be technicians from engineering. Nothing all that special." Remi replies to Finley.

Finely activates his handheld computer that's plugged into his suit and links up with Bucket's data core bringing up the schematics for Stars In Ours Eyes on his helmet HUD. It was one of humanities first long range ships but all ships had a general layout. The age and some outdated building practices was causing Nikolay some trouble on where to even start but for Finley he was already mapping the route to the ship's bridge.

Nathan was finally coming back to. "Next time we do that Nikolay I think I'm going to sit outside the ship and watch."

"Fin and Bran I'm sending down my Buzzards to help you guys out and let us observe your adventure." Remi says tapping out some commands on his HC.

Two metallic objects about the size of a large loaf of bread come floating into the airlock where Finley and Brando were.

Curious Case of the Black Box - IC Vincen10

"If you want to direct control of one just link into our data core. If not they'll just follow you around." Remi says

"I got a got a rough idea Nikolay. Not much of the general ship design has change over the years. I send you the route we try to take. Remi, please keep checking the names of the crew we encounter. So we could at least inform their families about them.

Finley starts typing on his used handheld computer maping a rough cours to the ships bridge and sending it to the crew back at the bucket.

Brando, concentrate on the now, i have a rout to the bridge, so we can do that as fast as possible.

Finley starts walking slowly along his mapped course, watching out for other crew members and other stuff floating iin that dead ship.

PostSubject: Re: Curious Case of the Black Box - IC   Curious Case of the Black Box - IC EmptyMon Sep 30, 2019 12:46 am

The concerned scolding of Finley shocked Brando outside His morbid reverie. . .

With just a murmured, quick prayer to the "Holy Virgin Of The Void" to somehow preserve the souls of those unfortunates, maybe lost in the dark recesses of the outskirts of the Solar System, then hard-earned years of difficult training and real live-fire operations took place and hardened a little His resolve. . .

Realizing that the Assault Sniper Carbine had NO place in the cramped corridors of the "Lost Starship" (that were ALSO probably cramped with free floating unsecured crates and debris, if NOT some other poor astronaut corpses !!) the Italian Gendarme secured the long weapon on the back of His spacesuit and took position following the indications of the comrade. . .

The Tactical Pump Shotgun was firmly held in the safe-firing forward position, with the mounted torchlight projecting a searing beam of light in the sidereal half-darkness surrounding the two crewmember of the 'Bucket. . .

Under the Pistol Grip was attached a Quick-Release clip-harness (attached to the front of the Suit Jacket) that was MANDATORY when carrying Two-Handed Longarms in the "Zero-Gee" low-gravity of the Void, so that EVEN with BOTH hands occupied in some life-saving emergency maneuver the Scatter Firearm would NOT have travelled away more than half a meter of hyper-tensile wire. . .

. . . . .

"Sorry for the problems, pals. . .!!"

"Too much bad memories coming to the mind's forefront. . . . . too much colleagues floating on the space in nightmarish remembrances. . . . .!!!"

"Also the QUITE morbid thought that, somewhere in the Black, the ruined remains of My original, organic ARM are gallivanting around, like and exploded Brando-Burger, NEVER leave My unconscious back-mind, no way HOW MUCH Confessional Psychoteherapies I have done in the past. . .!!"

"Say, my friends, what could be the meaning of TWO Engine-Room Technicians, without Jumpsuit, running towards the Airlock. . . . .???"

"Maybe they were docked somewhere and there was SURELY a Space-Hazard Accident, Purposeful Sabotage or a Enemy Attack and they went towards what they THOUGHT was a safe direction. . . . .????"

"I intend to check our surroundings for WHATEVER useful finds could help narrow down WHAT really transpired there; if You could point Me to search the RIGHT proofs or tracks, then My so-called Investigative Prowess will be GREATLY enhanced. . . . . .!!!!!!!"

. . . . .

Then, following the lead of the Space-Rescue Expert, Brando awaited some useful inputs from the fellow crewmembers, so that His searching attention, following the Tactical Torchlight Beam, would have been narrowed towards the most purposeful spot or kind of searchplace. . . . .

Curious Case of the Black Box - IC Empty
PostSubject: Re: Curious Case of the Black Box - IC   Curious Case of the Black Box - IC EmptySat Oct 05, 2019 1:45 pm

Brando:

Nikolay:

Finley and Brando maneuvered through the dead halls of Stars In Our Eyes avoiding more deceased crew. There would be a lot. The crew manifest listed 300 personnel ranging from scientists to flight crew. It wasn't a sight anyone wanted to come across but the black was merciless and she could take you life at any moment.

As Brando brings up the rear his ever searching taclight passes over a black lump on a panel facing. It looked like a wart and would be perfectly hidden in the light-less hulk. Brando moved in for a closer look. The small aperture inside constricts as his light gets closer to it. This was an autonomous camera tracking them. Upon further inspection of it this was a model he was familiar with... and they only started making them in the 2050s. Stars In Ours Eyes had been missing since 2017.

One of the Buzzards moves in as well giving the crew back on Bucket a closer look as well.

Remi's voice speaks into Brando's ear. "What the hell is that doing here?"

Finley pressed on further ahead towards the bridge with the other Buzzard in toe. He comes up to it to only fine it locked down with heavy blast doors. It would take some time to work through one of them. Maybe there was an alternate route or method of entry?

Back on Bucket something nibbled at the back of Nikolay's minds as he went through the initial scans and pictures of Stars In Our Eyes as they approached it for the first time. He couldn't quite place what he was looking for but it was there... somewhere. His train of thought was broken when Remi tell his to take a look at what Brando found.

"I don't think we're the first people to have boarded Stars since she went missing." Remi says.

Rem could you send the Buzzard through the airshaft on the bridge to scout ahead while i try to open the blast doors? Would be nice to know whats in there before we enter.
Finley asks over the com.

As the Buzzard dives intot the ventilation shaft, Finley starts searching the heavy blast doors and the walls surrounding them.

His experience in SAR missions comes in handy as he soon finds the manual override to open the doors.

Ok, i think we can open the doors without any problems, i have found the override.I think we wait a few minutes to get some pictures from the drone before we enter. What do you think, Brando?

Curious Case of the Black Box - IC Empty

"Copy. Seeing if I can find a hole to sneak into the bridge through." Remi responds.

As that is happening Brando is still examining the camera he found. "Everyone be advised that we aren't the first people to set foot here since Stars In Our Eyes went missing. I have a camera here that dates back to the 2050s. If someone is watching or recording... Remi was there any transmission traffic coming from the Stars when we arrived?"

"Negative. She was dark."

"How about a laser link?" Brando asks.

"Give me a minute."

Fishing:

"I'm not seeing any laser link but that shit is hard to detect. If someone went through the effort to bug this ship I bet they have a laser link set up." Remi says sounding nervous.

"So someone knows we're here at the very least. Shit, I'm not liking this at all anymore." Nathan comments.

It was decision time. The job just got a hell of a lot more complicated. Was it time to scram and live another day but lose out on the money and fame or go for broke?

"We didn't come all that way out here to get spooked this easy did we?" Nikolay asks. "We're professionals. We're getting the job done and we'll deal with the consequences later. Brando, bag that camera. Finley, get that black box and lets get out of here."

Brando looks at the best way to detach the camera. It looked like it was embedded within the panel. He didn't know the easiest way to get it out or even how but he did know that taking the whole panel with him the camera should come with it. So he unsheathes his knife and finds a gap to wedge it in.

Brando:

Using leverage to his advantage Brando pops the panel off in one swift move. It was a good thing as well as the panel pulls away and stops with the cameras cables holding it down. It wasn't just a camera cables either. One line running down is connected to a small box... one that had the stenciling: Front Towards Enemy. A claymore mine. Brando quickly disarmed the trip wire leading to it and took his panel with the camera attached. Seemed whoever was watching didn't want anyone to collect evidence that they were. They were willing to kill to keep it all a secret.

The Buzzard that disappeared into the air vent found a broken off grate that lead to the bridge. Pulling in its presented with a grizzly scene. The bridge crew seemed to have fared better then the rest of the ship but eventually they ran out of air, food, water, or sanity. All seemed to be the case. In one corner of the bridge frozen blood orbs surrounded a body missing its head. In another crew mates hands was something akin to bulkhead shears... it wasn't hard to put the clues together on what happened there.

Guys seems like they lost everything when they got trapped in here. I start to wonder what happend with this ship.

Finley starts to look for the black box in the standard places he knows from modern ships, but it seems as thats something that changed about the last decades in ship construction.

I cant find the Black Box yet. Seems its either hidden or something. Maybe it changed in places due more modern ship construction. Does someone of you have any idea or should i try to get one of the computers runing again?

"Should see if you can boot a console up, Finley. At that point I could probably get something from the ship logs or actual ship schematics." Remi says.

Finley goes around the bridge and finds a suitable console to try and boot up. As he goes down and rips a panel back getting to the wiring his boots press down on a floor panel. It gives way. Looking down at it Finley sees a nice big orange box. That would be the black box. Seems luck was smiling down on him today.

Finley pulls the black box free and starts to egress back to Bucket.

[And that will probably be it do to lack of players. We got something going but couldn't keep it going. Check you PMs, Drunk. I'll give you the total low down on where this campaign was going.]
