Bio

Playbook: Whisper
Alias: Rake (Sarcastically given to him by the soldiers in his unit, as he was seen as kind of a stick in the mud)
Look: A focused, tall and wiry, red-haired man. Marius tends to wear long coats and collared shirts. He keeps his hair and beard short. His very straight posture and clipped walk betray his upbringing and military background.
Heritage: Skovlan - Nobility. Marius was part of a large noble family in Skovlan. As far as he knows, he and his sister Ashlyn are the only two left, their family's assets seized by Imperial Authorities after the Unity War.
Background: Military - Skovlan Spirit Corps. Marius served in the Skovlan Military as a ghost hunter, protecting the regular troops from possession and assault by supernatural forces.
Vice & Purveyor: Stupor, Traven's smoke shop, Coalridge. Marius smokes Dream Smoke or, when particularly stressed, Black Lotus to unwind.

Strange Friends

^ Nyryx, a possessor ghost. Nyryx was a regular at Traven's smoke shop. Marius met her there and they quickly fell in together. When she died of an overdose, Marius hid her body from the Spirit Wardens so her spirit wouldn't be destroyed. They've been off and on since her death, as her frequent change of hosts makes Marius somewhat uncomfortable.
V Flint, a spirit trafficker. Flint was one of the crew's first marks. Though he holds the whole crew in disdain, he saw Marius as a kindred spirit and hasn't gotten over that particular betrayal.

- Gather enough wealth to recapture the material comforts of his youth
- Help the Skovlander refugees in Doskvol
- Find a way for Nyryx to have a permanent body without turning into a vampire

  • His eyes locked onto a valve, as he recalled the schematics he'd memorized from Ash's find.

  • Sibling interaction with Ash in a flashback
  • The man had a strange look on his face, a look Rake had seen many times etched upon the face of comrades after particularly harrowing battles during the War. So much for 'fun'.
  • "At least, that's what my tutor used to say." He wasn't sure Ash would remember the old, sinister man their parents had hired to hone Marius' budding sensitivity to the ghost field.
