Description:
Age: 45
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 220 lbs
Eyes: green
Tall with an athletic build, underneath the mechanicus implants, with them a lot bulkier under the robes. He has dull green eyes and a pale complexion, from his early life on some unknown deathworld. His implants are unassuming and fairly standard, if not looking a bit worn from previous battles. His bionic arm (the right) on closer inspection is well maintained and of a high quality, and has been coated with some dark colored material. His robe as well, bears the marks of battle, with rips, tears and scorch marks spread over, with the entire right arm of the robe torn off, leaving his bionic arm exposed. His face has bears the scars of life on the deathworld and war, with 2 long scars running from above his eye down his cheek from a run in with some beast on his homeworld. His respirator is a basic one, for practical uses with no embellishment. This is removed when not in combat situations.
His boltgun is usually slang over his back while he carries the power axe in his hands.
His Servo skull has also been coated with the dark material, its medical attachments left uncoated.
Personality
Roland has a very blunt and hard personality. His early life on his home planet, followed by his abduction and training by a heretek, and his time spent in prison, greatly shaped his attitude towards everything. Be hard or be crushed. Because of this he tends not to worry much about what others think of him. In the same way he lets a mans or womans skills speak for them self, and doesnt judge a book by its cover.
Background
Born to well off parents on the death world of Menazoid Epsilon brought advantages and disadvantages. He had every material thing he could ever want, a lot more than any other living in the settlement, as well as high quality training and teachers. But it was easily offset by the brutal life of living on a deathworld. Frequent attacks on the compound required all hands to be ready to fight off the horrors from the surrounding jungles. It made him grow strong, but with many of his friends, and his mother lost to such attacks, it also made his heart grow hard. After his mother died, his father tried to constrain him and protect him by upping security in their compound. Because of this and his mutable nature, he became bored, and frequently ran away from his security, or escaped from the compound and roam the streets.
In his various forays into the settlement he was befriended by, what he thought was, an old tech priest living in some run down area of the city. Alakluus quickly found a willing and eager student, and sated his curiosity, talking of all manner of things, from history to technology. Over the months and years, the old tech priests influence grew and grew over the boy, and the more Heretikcal ideas started to take hold.
During the rest of this time, his mind became focused on the Adeptus Mechanicus, and he studied as much as he could about them. Frequently, books and other bits of technology Alakluus had not had access to, Roland was able to obtain through his parents connections.
With the ideas of the Heretek Alakuus firmly in his head, he joined the Adeptus Mechanicus.
He had the focus that he had always looked for and applied himself to obtaining as much information he could, and frequently returning it to his master, to learn more.
For many years he studied, and grew within the Adeptus Mechanicus, and at the same time studied with Alakluus, until his Heresy was eventually found out. Although he kept his basic augmentations, a lot of the extras were stripped away after he was found guilty. Of course, as is the way of the Imperium, they found a use for him and put him to work on the front lines.
His time on the front was harsh and brutal, and although he was watched, he still cultivated the teachers of Alakluus, that nothing was taboo, and all information, be it xenos or archeotech, should be available to all.
Through war and his actions in it, he was able to earn a position working for Rogue Traders. He was a talented tech priest, but because of his origins he didnt quite fit in within the normal circles of the Adeptus Mechanicus.
This suited him fine as it gave him the freedom he wanted and the space to pursue whatever he chose...
