Ink - Downtime / Freeplay Empty
PostSubject: Ink - Downtime / Freeplay   Ink - Downtime / Freeplay EmptySun Jan 24, 2021 2:40 pm

Soon after her meeting with the Blackwater Phantoms, Ink was alone again. She walked through dimly lit streets without a cigarette, nobody would notice the smoke from her mouth in the dark - an advantage of the sun being gone.
Ink walked with purpose, striding towards the territory of the Hounds.

She had spent her whole life in the city, so her destination was anywhere that she knew to have a high concentration of Hounds but that was also open to the public. A bar, a brothel, a casino - whatever would work. The goal was to settle in, chat some people up, and then start spreading rumors that would get the Hounds to deploy in force to an abandoned mansion in six towers. The details would be ironed out depending on who she spoke with specifically, but that was the plan.

As she arrived in Hound territory, Ink made her way towards a popular tavern she knew about from previous dealings with the gang - The Wooden Slug.

-

The tavern was packed full. Hounds, yes, but other folks also. Ink worked her way through the crowds, talking and flirting and complimenting her way into a small group of people, some hounds some not. It was here she made her play, as the group exchanged drunken gossip over bad ale and smoke.
"Well /I've/ heard something truly fascinating, darlings. Heard of those up and comers, the Backwater Phantoms?I've heard they have some new project they're working on in an abandoned mansion down in six towers. Some big thing that they claim will take down the Fog Hounds." She took a drink, then a puff of smoke. "Sounds crazy if you ask me, but every rumor has a kernel of truth, mm? Imagine if it worked.."

The hounds in the group stiffened at the mention of the Phantoms. The group had been drinking for several hours now, rowdy and singing songs, but you could almost hear a pin drop after Ink's words.

A wiry, half-bald man leans in close, eyes narrowed and begins slowly peppering ink with questions - where did she hear the rumor? Who told her that? What does she know about the Phantoms, and the Hounds too for that matter? And what did so-and-so say they were working on?

The man had been slurring his words a moment ago, but now he spoke with clarity and urgency...

Ink walks out with more than a slight headache coming on, but the Hounds were still talking about what these rumors meant when the dim light of dawn started creeping in - and that had to count for something, didn't it?

=================================================================

After her first successful score, Ink was quite proud of herself and happy to have made some amount of progress in earning the groups trust. She had moved her things into the crews quarters, and as the group went about their personal activities in the aftermath of the score, Ink heard of a contact one of them had which could assist in mending wounds, or in Inks case dealing with a hangover that just didn't seem to want to go away on its own.

So her first trip was to meet this Quellyn, tagging along behind Ash when she went. She made introductions and ideally had Ash or one of the others vouch for her as a new member of the crew, and then requested some aid with her hangover.

-

Later, Ink took some of her spare time to try and make inroads with a tattoo artist named Tris in The Docks. Ink had heard some very good things about the extreme quality of Tris's tattoo work, and wanted to work her way into the woman's good books to one day try and get herself one of Tris's pieces. She knew this wouldn't be easy, and in fact the first step was visiting the docks to try and find a leviathan hunter ship that would allow her aboard to catch a glimpse of a leviathan. Risky, yes, but good art was worth a lot - and permanent, personal art was worth the most of all.
