I don't think parry applies in this context, so here's a -10 dodge roll:

77 vs. 21 (31-10) 6DoF. No dice.

http://orokos.com/roll/589034

Then on my turn I'm going to grapple it back. That'll be an opposed strength.

74 vs. 30, that's another fail. 5DoF. Life's hard. The snake will gain an extra DoS due to size difference.

http://orokos.com/roll/589035

IC:

"Oh ya had ta go and piss 'im off ey?!" Valgard says as the coils starts to wrap around him. He sloshes about in the water frantically, coughing and sputtering water as he tries to escape. Realizing he was doomed to get constricted, Vall Grabs hold of the snake forcefully, trying desperately to lift the slimy monstrosity from the water.

Makes sense about not parrying the snakes constricting.

It will start to try and crush you
opposed str https://orokos.com/roll/589096 = 33 vs 60 (3DoS)
damage http://orokos.com/roll/589056 = 15 to Valgards body, so thats 8 wounds.

New round, Reginald is up. He'll need to be careful here as a miss of more than 30 will hit Valgard, unless you want to make a called shot (-20) against a 'safer' section of the snake.

Reggie's confident he can find a non-Val section of this snake. WS 45 +30 (All out) +5 (weapon) -10 (water) <70; rolled 48/3 DoS
Damage (taking DoS): 10, pen 0

http://orokos.com/roll/589061

IC: "Hold tight, Val!" Reginald came around with another hard blow.

I'll try a bite on Reg
https://orokos.com/roll/589098 = 18 vs 60 (Half aim, standard), thats a hit. Need a reaction from Reg.

and some more crushing on Val
opposed str https://orokos.com/roll/589100 = 59 vs 60, 2 DoS (+1 for size). I need a str test from Val.

Run like the wind! At least, that is what I think we would do. Maybe try to get back to the relative safety of the small little town?

EDIT: For some reason I only read the "What do you do?" post and didn't see everything in between. Since we are already running and they are closing, should we maybe try and lose them? Is that possible?

Ya, we need to keep running to the town, but of they get too close, Slythe will end the captive and be the rearguard.

The skaven are between 40-50m away and they are steadily gaining on you. They are faster than both Slythe and Serestre. It is clearly a case of when and not if they will catch you...

Here is how I'd like to do the chase...
- Lets say its going to take you 4 minutes to run the half mile to the monastery
- We'll do fatigue tests each minute for you guys and the skaven, so thats 4 rolls. The skaven will also roll.
- They'll like catch you somewhere in the 3rd or perhaps 4th minute... we'll see how the rolls go.

If the above makes sense can Slythe, Serestre and Daemaer all give me 4 CON rolls. Daemaer gets +10 as he is the only one not running top speed.

PostSubject: Re: Death in the Mountains - OOC   Mon Jan 29, 2018 4:13 pm

sorry a post didnt go through.

anyways they are in range.

I will turn and stop and cast lightening bolt at 1 who is closest to others (aka so it can jump better) and then just keep moving full speed to catch up to the others.

WP 52

http://orokos.com/roll/589652 - 25 (3dos)

Damage 1d10+5

http://orokos.com/roll/589654 - 12 damage

IC

Daemaer glances back again, seeing the skaven catching up.

Shit

"KEEP GOING! I WILL CATCH UP!"

He suddenly spins around and slides to a stop, before starting to mutter under his breath.

Energy crackles around his hands as he looks at the oncoming rat swarm.

"Boo."

He unleashes the spell and bolt flies true.

With that cast, he spins around and takes off after the others again at full speed.

Slythe stops. He would not let the skink-class remain behind while he scurried away like a coward.

He keeps a firm, one handed grip on the skaven, while the other held his heraldic, celestite weapon.

When the caster was done, he also turns and runs after him, taking up a position in the rear.

ok... the guys in the crypt.

Bite damage vs Reg https://orokos.com/roll/589786 = 12 vs 9 soak = 3 wounds to Reg.

As Valgard passed his opposed str test he takes no damage but is still grappled.

I'll update IC in a moment.

Valgard is up

Peeps who are being chased. Here is the current order...

800 metres to go

Serestre
Daemaer – 18m behind
Slythe - 18m behind
Skaven 1 – 34m behind (-7 damage)
Skaven 2 – 34m behind
Skaven 3 – 39m behind
Skaven 4 – 39m behind
Skaven 5 – 44m behind
Skaven 6 – 44m behind
Grey Seer – 44m behind
(all values are distance from the front runner)

Each extended round will cover 200m. Each round a fatigue test must be made by PCs and NPCS. If a fatigue test is failed or damage is taken, 1d10m will be lost from the individual.

Does that sounds reasonable?

Can I have any IC from Serestre and Fatigue tests from everyone?

Val's gonna take control again.

No control today. 93 vs 30. 7 DoF. http://orokos.com/roll/589850

IC

Valgard held fast to the slippery creature as it tried to crush him with its body. As the creature constricted, Valgard pushed back with a cry. The snake pressed against him, but Valgard would not go quietly. Finally, the beast relaxed and Valgard took the initiative immediately. He gripped the creature again and tried to pull its head to him, but Valgard could find neither the strength to grapple him nor any purchase on its slimy scales.

dont forget if they are wearing metal armor it ignores it or something? Also if any was in 2m of the guy i hit (i specified aiming for a group/clump) then it would have jumped!
Also, shouldnt at least one have to test because lightening bolt Very Happy

Fatigue test
30 + 10 (not running full speed) = 40 lol

http://orokos.com/roll/589927 - 1! (IMA PERFECT HUMAN(ELF))

IC
Daemaer lopped along, keeping pace with Slythe.

"Thanks for the company! When this comes down to a fight, you handle the little guys, i will take care of the grey rat."

He calls forward to Serestre
"Help us if you can with whatever magic, but otherwise keeping going towards the monastery and bring help!"

The skaven wear leather armour and are spread out, don't worry I've got your back for these things. Perhaps once they get closer they bunch up a bit.

Don't worry I hadn't forgotten about the fatigue rolls for the skaven...
https://orokos.com/roll/590050
Skaven 1 = 29, pass (took damage, -1d10m)
Skaven 2 = 51, fail, -1d10m
Skaven 3 = 30, pass
Skaven 4 = 2, pass
Skaven 5 = 76, fail, -1d10m
Skaven 6 = 50, fail, -1d10m
Grey Seer = 21, pass

Penalties to distance will be applied at the end of the round.

Rolled a 60, so I know that's a fail. Gonna start to fall behind.
http://orokos.com/roll/590064

IC: Serestre was close to screaming out at the situation. She could tell they were gaining on her and her new companions. Who knew what they would do to them? It couldn't be anything enjoyable that was for sure. She tries her best to keep running as fast as she can, but her previous living arrangements didn't really help with her physical fitness. She begins to lag...which makes the terror inside her grow even further.

Does this thing have a size bonus? I thought I saw that somewhere. If so, I am rolling against an 80 rather than a 70 and it should have 2 more damage. NBD either way.

Secondly, are the snake's fangs treated as primitive or are they Improved Natural Weapons?

ATTACK THE BASTARRRRD

WS 70/80; rolled 18/6 or 7 DoS
Damage: 12 or 13, pen 0.
http://orokos.com/roll/590129

IC: Reginald didn't even recoil at the bite. His awkward attempt to thwart it with his hammer had failed, so he relied on his armor to do all the rest. He grit his teeth and swung back around hard on the opposite side. Ribs would crush and organs would be punctured... and it was on him to make sure the snake's cracked first.

I hadn't thought about both points, apologies Embarassed

Yes its hulking so +10. Its a giant of its kind so I'll give it Improved Natural Weapons Smile

Regardless, its dead. I'll update IC later tonight or tomorrow at latest, and move it along for the other group.

Ah, I forgot about crits, so not dead. The snake is on -1 and 'winded' which means it can only take a half action...

The coils on Valgard loosen and it will try and bite Reg

https://orokos.com/roll/590461 = 19 vs 50 (+10 standard att) = 4 DoS

Need a reaction from Reg and Valgards action.

The group being chased...

Serestre lost ground as did half of the skaven. The closest Skaven to Slythe is now only 15m away and you've 600m to go.

Can I have more fatigue rolls if your running full tilt or any other actions and IC please?

Pulling a knife and stabbing the bastard.

31 vs. 92, 7DoS. AoA +30, +10 Hulking, +10 Gang Up (feat), -10 Water.
Damage: 11 pen 0.

Can I sub DoS for damage even if it goes over the usual max damage? If so, that'll be 13 damage.

Also, are we using Pearl's Righteous Fury rules? If so that should be 4 extra crit, but either way I should have +2 crit from the Street Fighting talent.
http://orokos.com/roll/590471 http://orokos.com/roll/590474 http://orokos.com/roll/590476

IC:

After a thunderous crack, Valgard felt the beast's coils loosen. "Aye Reggie, good hit! Now to finish him off." Valgard says as he pulls the scramsax from it's sheathe on his back. With a shout of triumph, Valgard drives the blade deep into the creature's coils, red water diffusing into the dark pool around them.

I guess im going to drop the captive, turn and charge the nearest skaven, no use running anymore.
http://orokos.com/roll/590676
32 vs 52, 9 damage, p1 crushing

They were losing too much ground and Slythe new it. He tosses the captive forward, who bounces along the ground, before he turns and runs at the nearest Skaven, shouting to the others, "Take your meat-hossstage and warn the others. Ill hold the offssss."
As he tells the others to head off, he raises the Celestite club and brings it down on the charging ratman in a downward arc.

The chaps in the crypts. The chute is the easiest way out, being a bit short you'll need to assist each other into the opening. Then its an athletics roll (-10) to climb up, unless you come up with something creative.

attack skaven 3, standard attack
http://orokos.com/roll/593884
57 vs 52

failed. Even with an aim.

Slythe aimed at the wounded ratling.

"Prepare to Diessssss." he hisses as he brings the celestite weapon downward again in a clubbing blow. The downward attack, while powerful, was easy enough for the skaven to avoid.

"A few more sssseconds of life will not prevent your deathsssss."

nice.

Slythe caught the clumsy blow in his heavy weapon and deflects it easily to the side.

Dodge Attempt
Ag 31: 6, pass.

http://orokos.com/roll/594308

Serestre will do her best to try and calm the one attacking her, as she would normally do.

WP 47 + 10 (Tier 1) = <57: 6...well that is weird. Actually rolled two 6s in a row. 6 DoS

http://orokos.com/roll/594309

IC: Serestre stumbled backwards at the haphazard attack aimed right at her head. She nearly tripped over, but her rather unorthodox dodging ability kept her from getting hurt...for now at least.

"Calm yourselves or this will most likely end badly for you. Shallya, tend their heated minds and nurture in them a sense of calm!"

She casts the spell quickly, hoping to help delay the advance of her attacker.

Skaven will try and resist Serestre spell... http://orokos.com/roll/594311 = 7, a good roll but doesn't beat your 6 DoS.

New round. Action on Slythe and Daemaer.

I agree, not sure why I did it my way. We'll go with +10 half, +20 full

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Here is Slythes attack http://orokos.com/roll/594329 = 9 vs 52 = Hit, 7 dam, pen (1)

Skaven dodge http://orokos.com/roll/594330 = 29 vs 40 = pass

I need IC from Slythe. I'll do the Skavens actions when I get time.

Slythe watched as the Skaven darted from side to side in an effort to avoid his blows.
"Hold sssstill rodent!" he hisses at the skaven as he again tries a downward clubbing attack. The skaven easily moved to the side.

It was time to change tactics, his next attack would be a horizontal blow.

Will try to calm the one attacking Daemar.

WP 47 + 10 (Tier 1) = <57: 73, no go.

http://orokos.com/roll/595664

IC: Serestre backed away from the one whom had previously been trying to get her, not quite knowing what else to do in this situation. She noticed that Daemar seemed to be in a bit of a pinch and so tried the same tactic on the one attacking him. She gathers her strength, but notices that something doesn't feel right. Perhaps, Shallya would not help her anymore...

As the doubt crept in, Serestre readies herself to give it another go soon...

1/2 aim, 1/2 attack
http://orokos.com/roll/595683
should be a hit, 3 vs 52
8 damage, p1

Slythe swiped horizontally at the weaving skaven. It was a good attack, his clutch bothers would have been proud, had they not been killed at sea.

Evade http://orokos.com/roll/595686 = 90 vs 40 = fail

Subbing DoS for damage will put you on 13 - minus its soak is 9 wounds. You've an injured one already so that will kill it.
