Zar had taken less than ten seconds to reach the Tau commander his power armoured boots pounding the deck as he steamrolled in. It felt like an age as he had closed the gap, the battle had ebbed and flowed around him, his servitors lay in ruin but so did the Tau, their alien blood mixing with the servitors oily black vital fluids.

At last the Wretches had responded, so he might not kill all of them now. Just some. Khorne, Crimson and he were thirsty after all.

Zar snarled in fury at the alien when he was finally upon him, Crimson claws going about their deadly work as he attempted to tear the Tau apart… He often thought little in the chaos of melee so caught up with rage and the smells of blood and vaults but power armour made it feel different, he almost felt cocooned against it sounds and smells of war, he was not sure he liked it.

The Tau didn't stand a chance against the assault of Zar and the Murder Servitors. Zar tore into the commander like a beat enraged. His final swing unhooking the xenos' head from its shoulders. The Muder Servitors mopped up the remaining fire warriors with ease.

The remaining Tau forces fired in anger into the hold killing swathes of wretches but without infantry they couldn't hold on to any ground. So they performed a fighting retreat taking any wretches with them.

The battle was over with Zar the victor.

"Enjoyable. Would of been better if they put up a better fight." Crimson comments.

Zar takes stock of his forces. There were still a good number of wretches but they weren't the endless horde of bodies like before. The Servitors... well it was a handful. Two Battle Servitors and six Murder Servitors.

[600 XP for a smartly fought fight.]

With the battle won Zar removes the Tau commanders helmet so he can gaze upon the aliens face, old prejudices came to the surface ingrained into him by the imperium as grunts in disgust at its blue skin and over big eyes. With a quick motion Zar hefts his axe and removes it head in a single strike. The Tau was a weakling, an unworthy foe so Zar would not carry its head, but it would certainly add to the tally.

He was aware of the wretches gathering nervously about him but he ignored them for a moment and looked about the glorious carnage of the battlefield. He needed to make plans. He didn’t like the prospect of being marooned on this ship. He also considered where he was, a Rogue Trader ship was well travelled so there was a chance even if it was slim of records of the Vault of Ry'Kleth.

Time to see if the wretches were of any use to him. Removing his helm Zar lets out a snort sending billows of smoke out of his flared nostrils, his glowing furnace yellow eyes sweep across the wretches causing some to faint and most of the throng to take a step back. Zar sneered at their weakness.

“Listen up. You will fight for me and if you can’t fight you better have some other use. I will carry no baggage.” Zar hoped that their would be someone learned in tech, perhaps a medic or someone he could trust some responsibility too. Looking at the pitiful crew he didn’t hold out much hope “Is there any bridge crew amongst you, tech adepts or medics?” he paused a moment for a reply but there were many downcast looks so as to not meet his gaze, while others shook their heads. “Is there anyone with the balls enough to step forward and speak to me as a man at least, someone with a bit of wit? There are things I wish to know. Are there other inhabitants on this ship? Is there someone who could delve into the Captains logs or knows and can read his star charts? Is there anyway of this ship?”

Zar patience is thin but he but he holds in his aggression for now, he needed to know the lay of the land and what his options were.

After he is done questioning them Zar will return to the Rogue Traders quarters and will make a thorough search the rooms.

Zar leans a few things questioning the wretches. Firstly, they referred to themselves as Castaways. Second, they're not the original crew. Those of this ship left or died long ago. Zar remembered the remains he found when he was traveling down the ship. Thirdly, there is a way off the ship. It was by boat. They don't recommend it though.

Additionally Zar learned Alekzander came aboard quite a while ago. The Castaways thought of him as a savior at first but quickly learned he was nothing more then a slave driver. There's some mentions he was looking for something on Furia.

So in all Zar learned the beings were not the old crew and did not have the skills he seeks. He could get off the ship by boat and that was it.

Zar rips apart the captains quarters and finds a few things of interest. Alekzander did have notes on the Vault of Ry'Kleth. The Rogue Trader had discovered that there wasn't a singular vault but multiple ones. He had discovered one was on Furia. He seemed to have narrowed down a part of the ocean where he believed it was before Zar showed up.

"The Vault might have a way off this planet among other things of interest." Crimson comments.

Zar finds star charts but they're all for Imperial space.

"Those are useless out here in the Vortex." Crimson says.

There was only one course of action, to set sail for the co-ordinates he hoped would take him to the vault. Anything else was cowardice in his mind, he would not fester on this ship. He gave no mind to the sea monsters that dwelled beneath the waves, if he died, so be it.

A sacrifice of those too weak or cowardly to make the voyage would be appropriate though. Perhaps if he could sate Lord Khornes bloodlust for but a moment he might have a chance on the waves. He chuckled a deep bass while smoke billowed from his nostrils at his mirth, Khorne would never be sated.

He gathered the wretches once more, they called themselves the outcasts but until they proved their worth ‘wretches’ was more fitting. “Listen to me and obey. Prepare the boats for a voyage, we seek glory on the waves in Khornes name for there are treasures to be found. I want the best fighters, fishermen and crew, everyone else will remain here. Go prepare, we leave at dawn.”

With that done Zar worked the battlefield, removing heads from the fallen and piling them high, Tau and wretches alike. It seemed fitting and would serve as a centre piece for the butchering he planned to christening his voyage. With that done he spent the rest of that day selecting his crew from the outcasts, he took the strongest and any who didn’t shrink overly from his blessed visage.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

At sun up Zar demanded all the wretches who were not leaving on the voyage were present to see them off, a pile of over 200 skulls were heaped high to greet them. Once satisfied everyone was gathered he stepped forward and turned to address his crew, so his back was to the weaklings who would remain behind.

“You who I have chosen have a chance of glory, to step away from your dreary existence. You have showed some bravery and strength, Khorne expects such things.”
Zar barks out his words, his furnace eyes taking on an intense look as the time of the slaughter grows closer. “We will begin our journey by seeking the blood gods blessing. There is only one way to do that. Take up your arms, we will slaughter the weak that remain behind.” Zar turns to regard the ‘sacrifices’, he scrapes Crimsons claws together the only weapons he would use for such a task “Blood for the blood god!” he savagely yells. With that Zar charges into the wretches and begins the butcher, as he runs in he calls in the remaining servitors…

It would hardly be a fight for Zar, his followers, and the remaining servitors. It was more of a slaughter as blood coated the entire hold. It got to the point where footing was becoming bad do to the blood that drenched the floor. However, as quickly as it began it was over. 100 new skulls joined the pile of 200. It was quite a monument to Khorne.

Crimson rumbled in glee, "Khorne has noticed you servant. The tides of the warp show that."

[+10 Infamy, +10 Corruption. Remaining crew are now mortal followers of Khorne.]

Zar did not stay for long to enjoy his massacre for he and his followers were to set out for the vault. They piled into the boats and set sail.

Through the blessings of Khorne nothing happened on the week long trip to the location marked on the map. No attacks by raiders nor any sight of the Leviathans.

Arriving in the area Zar spots something sparkling in the light just above the waves. It's a pyramid the size of a small boat.

[Zar has a small fleet of 10 boats with him.]

A week was a long time for a follower of Khorne to not draw blood and even more so for the Crimson Servant, influenced and driven by the daemon weapon that was now infused with his body. During the voyage Zar demanded that his followers spar with edged weapons, there were casualties, some caused by Zar himself. It served to cull the weak.

Zar was not sure what he'd expected as they arrived at the location, it certainly wasn't a floating pyramid. He'd envisioned diving into the waters to search out a sunken tomb.

The ships are ordered into a circling motion slowly tightening on the pyramid to gradually bring it closer to get a better view. He eye's the pyramid with suspicion for a while suspecting sorcery.

"Well demon, we are here it appears. What now?"
Zar queries.

"Your guess is as good as mine." Crimson responds.

As the ships get closer the water below them starts to vibrate. The pyramid they were closing in on is rising out of the water. Zar can now see its more of a monolith as the body rises from beneath the waves. As the monolith rises a small building connected to it rises up as well. It has a boat landing with a pair of staircases that lead to a set of large twin doors.

Before Zar can issue any orders one of his boats goes up in a explosion. He looks out across the water but doesn't see anything.

A lookout then calls out, "Xenos!"

Zar follows his pointing finger to the group of Tau coming after them [1 Sky Ray, 2 Hammerheads, 2 Devilfish with 2 Crisis Suits riding on top of them for a total of 4.]. Seems the Tau had tracked them and wanted some revenge.

[Tau will be within range to launch an assault in 2 rounds. The hammerheads and Sky Ray are within range to shoot at boats.]

Zar had hoped something would happen as they got closer to the pyramid and he wasn’t disappointed, it was a relief as his band were poorly equipped to deal technological or otherwise conundrums.

As one of his ships was torn apart by an explosion Zar ran to starboard and gripped the rail in eager anticipation of a fight, it had been a boring trip. He was a little disappointed at what he saw, the Tau hover tanks out ranged and would out manoeuvre his boats, he never despaired but for a moment he was at a loss of what to do other than to try and take as many xeno with him before a watery grave welcomed him. His gaze then rested on the monolith.

“Make for the landing, we draw them inside. Spread the word to the other craft.” He bellows orders to the crew.

It was the one chance they had; get inside the monolith and if the Tau dared to venture in, he would tear them apart. He doubted but hoped they had the guts after he’d taught them a lesson in the last engagement.

Zar's crew double times it the monolith. The other ships try as well but two more get blown to bits.

Zar's ship comes up the landing and everyone, the outcasts, and the servitors, quickly disembark. Good thing too as the ship explodes into wood and plasteel bits.

Zar races up the steps and pushes the massive doors open by himself. Zar is greeted by a massive statue of a human man made out of gold.

Crimson laughs, "That would be Ry'Kleth."

Two other boats are able to dock and offload. The four remaining ships are not so fortunate as Zar watches from the doorway as they get picked off by the railguns and missiles. The last ship is toyed with some barely missed and grazing shots before its finally finished off just as it reaches the landing. The unloaded ships are also destroyed leaving no way to leave.

The Tau start to come about trying to get an eye on the door way. Zar orders his men to close it and they do.

The Tau then try to pound the door open with their weaponry but for some reason the doors do not crumble to the onslaught of heavy weaponry.

++++

Zar waited for hours. The Tau were not coming. They must of learned their lesson when engaging a follower of Khorne in close combat.

So Zar sits in a large artrium inside of the monolith. A large statue of Ry'Kleth all in gold dominates the middle. At the base of the statue there is an elevator shaft door. All around the edge of the atrium are paintings of Ry'Kleth during his years of plunder and pirating.

Crimson explained some of them to Zar. The razing of Hershel V, capture of the Eldar corsair ship Wailing Scythe, and sacking an armory on the forge world of Donath.

Zar listened to the history of Ry'Kleth with passing interest focused as he was on the entrance to the pyramid, willing the Tau to enter. He had arrayed his men and servitors in a defensive formation although as time passed he realised with disappointment the xeno weren't coming.

Is was time to try the elevator. He was no coward and while he wasn't bright he wasn't entirely stupid, surely the entire way to the vault wouldn't prove as easy to get to as entering the main doors. The way might be locked, or even trapped. Zar would not die to a trap, if and when that happened he planned for it to be on the battlefield.

"You" Zar turns to the nearest warrior "Call the elevator."

A Castaway calls the elevator and it arrives without fault.

Zar crams himself, 5 of the meanest Castaways, 1 gun servitor, and 4 murder servitors into it. It's quite crammed and creaks under the weight. There's only one button inside. Zar pushes it.

The elevator doors close and it starts to descend at quite a fast speed. A vox speaker overhead crackles to life.

"Well, if you're hearing this then I'm dead and you've found one of my vaults. Welcome!" Ry'Kleth says in a rather thick accent, "For the one or many deciding to venture into this vault you will be quickly disappointment that you will not be arriving to it immediately. Only the truly worthy are going to make it into the vault. I do not wish you luck and I hope your death is rather quick."

The elevator stops, the lights cut out, and the doors open to a pitch black room.

A look of disgust crossed over Zar's face at the darkness, give him a straight up fight any day of the week. The water had to be tested first, time to dip a toe in.

"Servitor B194, forward" he commands one of the murder servitors and gestures it forwards.

The murder servitor surges forward without a second thought.

"At least servitors are good for one thing. Taking orders." Crimson grumbles.

It disappears into the darkness. Then a battle erupts. Metal clashes against metal and sparks fly. Zar catches a glimpse of what the servitor is fighting from the light of sparks. Metal skeletons with large knives for fingers and clothes made out of skin...

Then everything is silent again. The skull of the servitor comes crashing down just outside of the doors to the elevator.

"Got anything to make a fire with?" Crimson comments.

Luckily for Zar his Castaway followers have spare cloth, some gasoline, and some steel to spark it.

Once that is done, the small force moves into the room. Zar at the head, servitors and a few men protecting those who stand in the middle carrying the makeshift light source.

The team moves in to the black room.

Zar can immediately tell this isn't a normal darkness. The light from the torches castes the light over them and about a meter out. Anything else beyond that is still pitch black. Whatever destroyed the servitor are still out there.

They haven't come at the group yet though.

"Patient ones it seems. What are they waiting for?" Crimson thinks aloud.

The group moves together through the darkness looking for the things that destroyed the murder servitor scout.

The group comes across it remains. Deep claw marks and ripped limb from limb.

Suddenly out in the darkness many pairs of green eyes flicker on and dart towards the group!

Like a coiled spring Zar was ready for them, he could have been on them, met their charge but he held himself and ordered his men and servitors. "Protect the light bearers, stay tight."

Zar marveled at the metal skeletons as they moved in, he had never seen their like. He was also disappointed as they didn't look as though they'd bleed. It was a good job his mens blood would be good enough for Khorne. Bloods, blood at the end of the day.

Zar quickly took in the situation, they were surrounded and needed to take the charge. A solution quickly came to mind, tactics the only thing he was schooled in. He shouted out his orders...

"GS-192, open fire until they are upon us. Murder Servitors stay with GS-192 and kill hostiles that close."

He flexed his claws in anticipation.

"Yer dogs of war" he snarls at the castaways "Defend the charge, then get at them."

The Gun Servitor moves into action sighting in targets. It unloads down the right side of the group trying to catch as many metal skeletons as it can. It nails a few and seems to incapacitate at least two of them.

The skeletons are still moving in even with heavy bolter fire raining down on them. They smash into the murder servitors and the castaways.

The murder servitors fair better then the castaways in the initial contact. However, Zar's "encouragement" seemed to help them and they dig into their targets.

[3 Necrons killed, 2 Murder Servitors killed, 2 Castaways killed. Zar has 3 castaways (2 being torch bearers), 2 Murder Servitors, and 1 Gun Servitor left. 4 Necrons remain standing. 2 are engaged with the last 2 Murder Servitors and 2 with the Castaways.]

Zar saw that the metal skeletons of course did not bleed, they did however have skulls; of a sort. Their light source needed to be protected.

"Skulls for the skull throne" is bellowed as Zar thunders into the nearest enemy attacking his men, the crimson claws slashing and rending a blur of movement as the picks his foe apart.

The rest of the group is able to clean up their targets with no more casualties. The broken forms of Murder Servitors, metal skeletons, and some castaways make a ring around the survivors.

Zar looks ahead and notices nothing else coming from the dark. It seems the room is clear.

Zar squats down and inspects one of the fallen metal skeletons with the aid of the castaways light source; there was no blood. They appeared to be robots? Forcibly detaching on of their skulls Zar turns it over in his taloned hands.

Robots in the imperial guard were big, blunt instruments. These were different; an alien tech perhaps? "Tell me deamon, have you come across these things before. They appear to be alien tech to me?"

While he converses with the daemon Zar starts to carefully look around the room, for exits and anything of interest.

Zar plucks the head away from the metal skeleton but as he inspects it the body and the head zap away in a sickly green light. All the metal skeletons do.

"Hmmm, these are xenos. Rumors of a race known as the Necrons fits what we've seen here. Seems Ry'Kleth was more then a collector of goods." Crimson responds.

One of the castaways calls out that he's located another door. It opens by itself and a column of light blasts through.

Zar can now see everything around him. The room is littered with human bones. Seems Zar is not the first to tread this vault.

Zar peers at the metal skull "Xeno? These aren't flesh and blood. How?" it wasn't that Zar didn't trust Crimson, he was knowledgeable in things Zar would never know nor care about. He was peevish though, weeks on the sea, having to scamper in here away from the Tau only to face enemies that didn't bleed.

The skull falls from his hand.

"You!" he snaps at a nearby castaway "See if you can find anything dropped of interest amongst these bones."

At that Zar strides over to the open doorway and looks through.

Looking through the door Zar can see it's another room. This time it's fully lite, no noticeable traps, all there is is large paintings of humans in various poses ringing the room's walls.

The searching castaway returns to Zar, "Nothing of great use to us, sir. Just bones and fragments of clothing and armor. Seems anything good was taken."

Zar stalks about the room, frustration mounting as it became evident there was no obvious way forward. He was not suited to such work, his skill set was firmly in the thick of it on the battlefield.

Crimson and the castaways appeared little use.

Standing in the centre of the chamber he looks again to the pictures and an idea comes to mind, although it felt a little silly, but he had named Ry'Kleth as vain and so if that was the actual case... This was likely not to work and he would assuredly kill any castaway who laughed at him.

Taking each picture in turn Zar starts to mimic the poses.

Zar mimics the poses and he gets the feeling he's... dancing?

"Are you... dancing?" Crimson asks.

Before Zar can answer the floor starts to lower and Zar can see it's descending towards water... the floor submerges part of itself but stops before fully going under.

Looking around they are in a shaft. Probably one this floor elevator is supposed to go down.

The room is dark and looking into the water doesn't reveal if it's deep or not. Luckily Zar has a view test subjects at his disposal. At his orders a murder servitor to leave the floor and into the water. It steps off and fully disappears and never comes back up...

Zar considered the dark water for a time as he waited for the servitor to resurface. Had the place flooded or was this another deliberate obstacle to overcome. Moments ticked by. Perhaps the servitor didn't resurface because it couldn't swim or climb, its dead weight stuck at the bottom.

There was a choice to be made. Remove his armour and going for a swim or use its sealed environment as an advantage down there. Its great weight would mean swimming was not an option, but he was confident that if needed he could climb out.

Without a backwards glance to the remaining castaways he barely thought twice before stepping into water.

Zar takes the plunge and his armored body sinks like a rock. He comes to the bottom of the shaft and is greeted by the murder servitor his sent down before him.

Looking around Zar can see massive scars surrounding the shaft. They've been sealed but something tried to force its way in here once. Something big.

To no surprise there's a door at the bottom of the shaft. It's different from all the other ones his run into before. It contains 4 spin-able discs marked with symbols. There are symbols Zar can't read. That is until he feels Crimson looking through his eyes and the symbols change into ones Zar would know.

The symbols are all the same on each disc. One is of a figure in plate armor sitting atop of a throne of skulls. The next is something that shares the characteristics of both man and women. Next, is a robbed man holding a staff and a cube that has a maze traced across it. Finally, a bloated man surrounded by sickly figures.

From each disc a line points to a symbol on the door. Two lines leading a skull and two lines leading to figure rubbing its hands together.

"Heh, lets see if you can figure this one out before I step in." Crimson says.

Zar sighed at Crimsons suggestion as he liked using muscles other than his brain, nevertheless he studied the door for a moment.

So spin the wheels so one of the symbols on ech wheel align to the lines, two ended in a skull and the other a figure rubbing its hands.

“The skulls seem simple enough, right?” he said aloud to Crimson “Align the mark of Khorne to those two. But erm…” Zar paused for a moment as he considered the figure with rubbing hands. He wasn’t so sure with this one… “The rubbing hands of the schemer, so err… Tzeentch?”

He waited for Crimsons reply, he wasn’t about to start trial and error with the door mechanism in case it was trapped.

"Well, Khorne doesn't have a monopoly on death. Nurgle might not actively seek it from his subjects but his diseases have killed whole planets and their people. Tzeentch is correct for scheming but Slaanesh is also a master manipulator." Crimson says giving Zar a Chaos God 101 lesson.

Aligning the marks correctly the door releases open. The water Zar is in starts to be sucked through. The Murder Servitor clamps itself to the ground to keep its footing.

[Need a Strength test to see if he keeps his footing.]

Zar grunted at Crimson as his host gave its explanation, he cared little to learn more about Tzeentch and Slaanesh, they were cowards all. Only fit to die bloody deaths for the glory of Khorne.

Nurgle he was indifferent to and had little to no experience of. The plague gods followers at least hated Tzeentch so they had that going for them.

Momentarily caught unawares as the water surges through the opening door Zar grasps at the wall, his mighty strength which was enhanced by power armour and demon holding him firmly in place.

Zar hangs on as water rushes by through the door. Finally the shaft is drained of water.

Zar looks into the next room and good thing he held on. Massive saw blades extend and retract out from the walls of the room.

On the other side is another door. Zar figures this one to be around 15 meters away.

Zar stares at the blades as they stab and slash into the corridor trying to work out a pattern. After only a short while it started to make his head hurt. Impatient and with rising anger at the obstacles Ry'Kleth placed before him he looks about the room and his eyes settle on the servitor.

"Come here" he growls at it. Once it had come to heel Zar steps forward and grabs it by arm and leg and hurls it into the closest mechanism. The metal brace the blade is attached to squeals in protest as it tries to move against the blockage, but the servitor does its job. The protesting noise begins quieten and the blade arm eventually just judders against the blockage.

-good enough-

With a roar Zar charges in to the corridor....

Parry:

The blades came thick and fast, cutting and slashing at Zar. They were unpredictable and Zar struggled to defend himself against them, he was letting his anger and frustration get the better of him. He should have done better. Finally he stood on the far side, he was lucky for his power amour as he emerged battered and bruised instead of bloody. A lesser man would be dead. He glared at the door challenging it to frustrate him further.

On the other side Zar looks back and sees the lift with his remaining followers touch down.

The blades do not seize and there doesn't seem to be any way to turn them off. The wretches seem hesitant to cross and the servitors will cross without a second thought if ordered.

"Leave them. We've gotten all we've can out of them. Now they're starting to slow us down." Crimson says.

Zar considered Crimsons words "I would not leave them to starve, locked in here until they shrivel with hunger, that is not the way of Khorne?"

Removing his helm Zar turns to his men and regards them with his furnace eyes "You have served me and pledged yourselves to Khorne. Are any of you man enough to attempt the blades?" Zar gestures to the corridor of death before him with a clawed hand "You should all be grateful that I do not leave you to fester, that is not our way. Draw your blades and weapons wretches!" Zar raises his voice at his final command. "Servitors kill those before you, wretches if you survive perhaps Khorne will grant you the luck to try the corridor."

With that Zar looks on, giving his men the honour of watching their deaths in battle and service to The Blood God.

With that done he returns his attention to the door...

Awareness on door if needed:

[+3 Corruption and +3 Infamy for sticking to the teachings of Khorne]

"No it is not. They would of been at one another throats soon enough but a little encouragement never hurts." Crimson says with a demonic laugh.

The remaining castaways and servitors go at one another in a bloody brawl. With the sounds of battle behind him Zar looks upon the door. This one has no puzzles or other contraptions. It's simply a door.

Zar pushes it in and it swings open and he is greeted with a vast room a few kilometers wide and long.

Armor of all shapes and sizes are either ornately presented or just lie in piles a few meters tall. The vast amount of armor is almost endless in every direction.

Zar had arrived at the vault.

"I doubt Ry'Kleth will mind if we help ourselves." Crimson says.

[This place is big. Big enough that it has every type of armor from all the Rogue Trader, Dark Heresy, and Black Crusade books. You are free to choice one piece of armor and two pieces of wargear/equipment. If you don't want to go book diving I can give you a list of stuff Zar might be interested in.]

[+1700 XP for completing the Vault Hunter goal. You can replace it but you also may keep it knowing there are more vaults out there.]

Zar wanders the halls, examining different armour pieces but nothing really compared to the golden power amour he currently wore. There were other sets of power armour but Zar lacked the expertise to really distinguish between items of obvious better quality. That was until his eyes rested upon a suit of spiked blood red carapace. The spikes were cruel things not really for meant attack but to draw blood on those who dared place their hands upon the wearer. Skull motifs bedeck the plate and a large rune of Khorne is 'burnt' into the breatsplate.

"Yessss" whispers Crimson.

Zar reaches out and touches the plate. Immediately his anger and rage bubbled to the surface, he felt he could loose himself in an instant. His smoldering furnace eyes burn brighter in response. It felt good.

His first choice.

Zar then moves into other halls which contained wargear and a huge variety of pieces of equipment, many of which were beyound his understanding. To Zar's narrow view most of it looked useless, where were the items of destruction and war?

"Through into the next chamber Zar, I can feel another items with the Blood Gods blessings." Crimson coaxed. It was not a command but Zar obeyed and soon enough he stood before a pedestal upon which rested a spiked collar, which was covered by carvings of tiny skulls.

"This will protect you from sorcerers like the cowardly Warlord Korick."
Crimson spits out the word sorcerer.

Zar didn't think twice. His second choice.

His final choice took some time. Crimson remained quiet so Zar wandered a little aimlessly, unsure. He tried things out, examined others where he was unsure of their function. He eventually found himself back near the entrance to the vault itself, just after the corridor with the spinning and stabbing blades. He spied a pair goggles around a neck of a statue that wore one of the many suits of armour that were contained within the vault. Intrigued Zar tries them on and looks about. At first he is unsure what he seeing, there was a apparition like figure lying on the floor some distance away? He removed the goggles and found he was looking at a wall, beyound which was the corridor out of here and the chamber that contained his remaining servitors and what?

It took him a moment... one of the still dying men. He put the goggles back on and sure enough there was a wretch, a silvery apparition lying on the floor. The device allowed him to see past solid objects? Without further consideration as to their use, he was decided. He'd take the goggles.

Zar was kitted out but now what about getting off this planet? He had unfinished business with Korick.

Using his newly acquired goggles he peers around the vault. He catches an odd haze of light emanating from some object resting against a piece of armor.

As he approaches he sees it's a glass shard. Looking at it though he does not see his reflection. Instead it seems he's looking into some sort of cave lined with glass...

"This piece of glass is warp touched. So much so the power is incredible. It likes bathing in the rays of a star out in the void." Crimson says in ecstasy.

Zar was not impressed by the piece of glass. He had enough respect to not touch it though.

“How does it work, can I return to Kurse to deal with Korick?”

Nothing else came to mind, he was sure there were a myriad number of foes who needed to be relieved of their heads from many exotic locations, but Korick was an itch Zar so wanted to ‘scratch’.

"Your guess is as good as mine. However, it seems to be a portal. I suspect that this is not he only shard that has found its way into a peculiar place. It is very possible we can find our way back to the Shattered Moons using it. For what I've seen here on Furia this might be one of the only ways off." Crimson says.

Zar did his work with his hands, he had no esoteric powers to deploy in working out how the crystal worked and Crimson was no help.

Without a further thought he picked up the crystal.
